Re: 2025-26 Recruiting
I’ve heard that 6’2” point guard Jayden Riley from Yorkville Christian High School in Illinois will be in Bozeman this weekend for an official visit to Montana State. Riley is considered one of the top two or three point guards in Illinois. According to MaxPreps.com, he averaged 20.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, 8.3 assists, and 2 steals per game last season, including a standout 39-point performance. He holds offers from South Carolina State, SIUE, Eastern Illinois, LIU, Western Illinois, Southern Illinois, and Le Moyne (I believe, all Division I programs), along with interest from about a dozen other schools.

And we have an Illinois connection on the coaching staff. Xavier Bishop is from Springfield if I recall correctly. I wonder if he had something to do with drawing him in for a visit.mslacat wrote: ↑Fri Oct 10, 2025 9:00 amI’ve heard that 6’2” point guard Jayden Riley from Yorkville Christian High School in Illinois will be in Bozeman this weekend for an official visit to Montana State. Found this about Jayden Riley
https://www.madehoops.com/made-society/ ... douts.aspxJayden Riley, 2026 Point Guard, Yorkville Christian
The 6-foot-Riley is poised for a huge senior season and he continues to prove that he is one of the most underrated players in the state. Riley currently holds Division I offers from multiple schools including Northern Illinois University, South Carolina State, Long Island University, and more.
Riley is one of the best playmakers in the state and does a phenomenal job getting his teammates open shots. He keeps his head up in both the half court and in transition, reads the floor well, and is an accurate passer with both hands. Riley puts immense pressure on the rim which collapses the defense and leaves his shooters open. When getting downhill, Riley utilizes his quick first step, his strong frame, and knows how to leverage his playmaking and scoring abilities. He has a very good handle and does a great job changing pace. Once at the rim, Riley, per usual, finished through contact very well. He had multiple and-ones and was able to throw down a few dunks. He’s more than comfortable pulling up in the mid range and he looked to get to that spot regularly in both of the games he played. His 3-point shot has improved greatly over the last few years and he was able to knock down multiple 3-pointers in both games. Riley is a DI point guard who is able to play at any speed, and fill the stat sheet up in a winning way.
