Not sure the terminology, but yes, it is very common. Some coaches actually get paid bonuses for these games (One Big Sky coach get's all the money from these games after the 1st one... From what I hear). It's just like Power 5 football schools paying to come play there, or MSU paying smaller Football schools to play here.luckyirishguy25 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 11:14 amIs there a reason for this? or is this pretty typical? MSU got paid something similar when they played UNLV back during Covid and got the win too. That was sweet.SACCAT wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 11:49 amNot sure the terminology, but yes, it is very common. Re: Mbb 2025-26 Schedule
It's an interesting thing to keep an eye on every year. For the last 3 years it was hard to find anyone wanting to schedule Montana State, and pay them to come to their place, because we had been to the NCAA Tourney 3 years in a Row. That is also why it is so hard to get teams to come to MSU for both Men's and Women's.AFCAT wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 1:26 pmMSU got paid something similar when they played UNLV back during Covid and got the win too. The Stanford game should be fun, the women played them a few years ago in the tournament but I don't recall the men's team ever playing them in the past.

Re: Mbb 2025-26 Schedule
Unknown dates….
@ Utah State
@ Oregon State
(Buy games are now Colorado, Stanford, Utah State, Boise State, and Oregon State)
Looks like the schedule is in the West this year, as opposed to last Nov/Dec where we were out in the Midwest with Wichita State, Northwestern, Wisconsin, etc

Re: Mbb 2025-26 Schedule
I quite like this set of games, all will be very tough but the Bobcats should be able to compete with these teams if they play well. Now let's hopefully hear about a few home games to go along with all these away games!lv2hoop wrote: ↑Sun May 18, 2025 10:36 amUnknown dates….

St Thomas was 24 - 10 last season and took 2nd in the Summit. This looks to be a tough game.
Oral Roberts was 7 -23 last season and was last (9th) in Summit. This is a winnable game.
Denver was 11 - 21 last season and was 7th in the Summit. Denver also has a new HC this next season and a large roster turnover. This is a winnable game

How many players transferred in and out? If it’s as many as the average mid major, then those records from last year aren’t worth all that much.wapiti wrote: ↑Wed Jun 04, 2025 1:11 pmSt Thomas was 24 - 10 last season and took 2nd in the Summit. This looks to be a tough game.
