Absolutely that’s why I so baffled over this. Seemed so sincere. But moods change with reflection I guess Nanacat. Or no? Seems like my ex af me. Everything was great. Then 15 minutes later everything changed. Hard to tell.

I don't think anything necessarily changed, as some players choose to transfer for reasons other than being dissatisfied with their current situation. Maybe she'd rather live in California than Montana, maybe there's something else about Sac State that appeals to her, or maybe she entered the portal hoping for a bigger offer that never came.

I feel like this is a big time reality, that may have an affect on how many portal as years go on. It's still new, players see others get signed for big money, many think they are better than they are and who wouldn't want them? Then they don't get those 6 figure offers, they can't go back, (well maybe they can depending on the coach, but pride is difficult to swallow), and they're not ready to retire so they take what they can get.MSU01 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 4:26 pmI don't think anything necessarily changed, as some players choose to transfer for reasons other than being dissatisfied with their current situation. Perhaps she sees herself as the next Morales, who obviously benefited MSU, and herself, by transferring.
None of us will likely ever know.

So you leave a program where you got lots of playing time that would probably only go up next year. A program that is arguably the best program in the BSC, at what is arguable the best school in the BSC, in the arguably the best town in the BSC, which has the largest average attendance for WBB and for a coach who is the longest tenured in the BSC for pretty much the opposite of all that!

I think a ton of this is just due to the current "instant gratification" nature of the current generation of young adults. Gonna be a rude awakening for them once they get out in the real world...
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

As I think about this more I wonder if she would've played the 1 this next year. Esme played the 1 while Dylan played the 2. So would Dylan play the 2 again next year with Natalie at the 1?

Do we know exactly what Dylan's injury is yet? It happened far enough into the season that if it was an ACL tear it's very unlikely that she would be able to return until late next season if at all.

Re: Picton to Sac State
Morales left a team that could barely find the court let alone a basket — a huge number of them left — and moved to the best team. Picton left the best to move down a few notches. Morales stated she moved because she wanted a shot at winning the conference. Not comparable at all.nanacat wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 5:11 pmI feel like this is a big time reality, that may have an affect on how many portal as years go on. Re: Picton to Sac State
Unless one of the freshmen stole the show. Picton as 1 and Philip as 2 seem the natural positioning.
Now, with Dylan questionable — who’s going to play point?

A transfer or Dylan's sister. Who will be a freshman.Bobcat4Ever wrote: ↑Tue Apr 15, 2025 12:49 amUnless one of the freshmen stole the show. Picton as 1 and Philip as 2 seem the natural positioning.

Very well said Bobcat4ever. Nothing against Sac State but it most definitely is a move down. Our program dominates theirs in all aspects. No comparison at all as Gary stated above.

I think SAC has money related to the bigger fundraising effort happening, and they are in a position to buy next year's team. It wouldn't surprise me if Picton got some $$. They want several BSC championships right now.

Re: Picton to Sac State
I agree with you that it's not comparable, but just was trying to figure out what went through her head. An effort in futility for sure, as there really isn't a reasonable explanation as far as basketball goes. Therefore I go back to something on a personal level, either a locker room issue, chasing a guy, or maybe wanting to be in sunny California instead of Montana. Nothing else makes sense. But like I said above, we'll never know.Bobcat4Ever wrote: ↑Tue Apr 15, 2025 12:46 amMorales left a team that could barely find the court let alone a basket — a huge number of them left — and moved to the best team. Sac also picked up a commitment from a girl from Finland by way of Arkansas. Scored 40 points all of last year.
