Cats are getting outscored in the second half.

The first half of that game was a thing of beauty. The second half was definitely a thing. If you've ever wondered how many shots at the rim a team can put up in a half without even hitting the rim, MSU answered that question. Lots of things Binford can find to work on this week!

Re: WBB vs UNC
Idaho lost at Sac State today which is their 4th loss, so it's definitely down to a two-team race in the Big Sky with MSU having the significant edge after sweeping NAU. Was hoping the Griz might be able to knock off NAU today but sounds like they're struggling with injuries right now and lost by 20. Next week the Bobcats go to Weber and ISU, they beat both teams pretty handily at home last month but road games are always a challenge to navigate of course. Go Cats!

I have a really bad idea, because layups continue to be a problem and they surely were today either uncontested or in a crowd.
One of the greatest layup ‘Cats is right on campus. The X man Xavier Bishop is an assistant coach with the Men’s team and I’ve never seen anybody better off the glass. If I were a player I’d be begging him to share a little magic.

Thanks for the link! Deden & Philip have items on the website. Unfortunately, no Chirrick & Dykstra gear. Bunyan & Dykstra are international students so I don’t know if they get the same NIL opportunities. Hopefully, there’s other ways we can help support them.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 2:20 pmhttps://thenilshop.co/montana-state/saintcat40 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 2:14 pmWhere would a person buy women’s basketball collective clothes? Like a sweatshirt with Taylee Chirrick or Dykstra, etc.?
Here's the Collective's online shop. If you scroll down there are a few WBB player items, though I didn't see the two players you mentioned at a quick glance.

They finally got it right. I told my wife reaching over and around someone and sticking your head in there is like sticking your head in a washing machine — it’s not smart. Elbows weren’t up and they weren’t out. She’d just had enough and cleared. There seemed to be a lot of this “draping” type of infractions in the women’s game that are not consistently called. It wouldn’t take long to get them to stop it.

Exactly, a call or two in the first quarter stops it for the game. No call and they keep pushing the boundary, hard to blame a player if they do get a little aggressive with an elbow trying to get clear.Bobcat4Ever wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 6:30 pmThey finally got it right. A tale of two halves. The first half was in my opinion the best half of play all season. The second half was bad. We lost both the third and fourth quarters. Even Coach Bin had to "apologize" on her radio show. The thing is, if you look at UNC's schedule, they have had some pretty impressive wins and lots of close losses. The Lady Cats are really good but they have to play all four quarters. Got a tough road trip coming up next week. Go Cats!

UNC got run out of the gym in the first half but the Bears came back and played in the second anyway. Credit to them. Morales got in foul trouble and didn't play a lot in the 3rd quarter which didn't help with them pressing. I think tired legs at the end of the weekend contributed. Tough road trip next week. Weber is playing pretty well and ISU is always tough in their gym.

I think the WBB team has shown a lot of restraint when other teams have gotten frustrated and chippy or worse. That’s something that has to be emphasized by the coaches and the senior player leadership, as the default reaction for a lot of folks is to retaliate when someone is on you like a cheap coat all day. This team doesn’t seem to want to beat themselves. If you’ve seen Dylan’s TV interview about her injury and comeback, it explains a lot about the makeup of this team.4KornerKat wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 7:38 pmExactly, a call or two in the first quarter stops it for the game. I was about ready to lose my mind when the review went on for that long as I figured they were going to call something on Marah. She was fouled at least twice before they finally blew the whistle on that play.4KornerKat wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 7:38 pmExactly, a call or two in the first quarter stops it for the game. Re: WBB vs UNC
Playing pressure defense is tiring for the defenders as well. I was happy to see Hannah Robbins get some bigger minutes. She’s earned them and the more legs there are the better. And Issy Bunyan gave us seven quick points to help get the lead back up late. This team is just amazing — they can all play and not just one position. Addison Harris is amazing in her own right. Makes a steal out by the three point line and drives it the length of the court and made the layup. This team still seems to have a ton of untapped potential. The first half revealed some that. The second half showed that we are also vulnerable to a pressure defense.
