Basically tied at the half. Poor start to the 2nd half for the Cats. We don't finish under the basket, nau is. 48-40 with 16 to go.

We don’t get offensive rebounds. It’s the same story every game for us. If we shoot around 40-50% we will be in it at the end - not blowing them out. When shots aren’t falling we are doomed because we don’t play aggressive enough to rebound or get stops.

We've missed layup galore, yet we are only down 2 58-60 with 5 minutes to go.

Patterson has 5 made 3s. Bobcats are starting to outhustle

And giving up offensive rebounds bites us in the ass again...

Another .500ish season, if they’re lucky. That’s just the way it is.

Starting to get late in the season for this team to find itself. They just don’t seem to mesh together very well for any extended period of time.

Give up 3 offensive boards on most important possession. Can't win that way.

I was at the ladies game and managed to pull up the men's game on my phone. When we got up by 2 late in the game after trailing by ten I was so hopeful. Hate we couldn't close it out. Another tough close loss.

Just like the Idaho State game and few others. Make a big comeback, get the lead, blow it in the last couple of minutes. As mentioned, we're starting to run out of season to turn this thing around.

At this point it's basically a repeat of last year, try to finish somewhere in the Top 6 to avoid a first round game and then hope to get hot in Boise for three nights in a row. Last night was frustrating but I do think the team has been playing better lately. And I don't see any Big Sky team that is head and shoulders above the rest.

My feelings as well. This team is hard to watch. Most times it doesn't even look like an offense is being run. No flow. Watching them I always feel like I'm watching them play a pickup game in August and not a conference game in February. Won't be our year this year.

They don’t have a clear leader.

There’s no clear point, no clear “best” scorer, no consistent post play. Rebounding is piss poor, post game is mediocre although I’ll grant that Walker has offensive talent there. There’s nobody that can consistently create their own shot. They need a true point guard in the worst way, and they need some guys who can actually play defense in the post (Lecholat alone isn’t enough).

More than that though, I just don’t think they’re that talented. Patterson and McMahon are both good wing players, but they need somebody who can create for them and help them out. There’s nobody who can take over a game. I don’t know what happened to Goracke, but he looks completely different. Shoots every time he gets the ball and seems to have no confidence.

Not sure we have a big post that has been hidden all year and we definitely don't have a PG that just won't lose.

They certainly don't have either of those things. They do have Patrick McMahon healthy this year who has really emerged over the past couple weeks. Zero doubt in my mind that MSU can beat anyone else in the conference on a neutral court. They probably won't find that magic for the fourth year in a row but it's always possible, they've been there before and know how to play well in a tournament format.

They have the potential to, but lack of rebounding I fear will not allow it. Can't seem to get the key ones when needed.

Even though we pulled off a split with NAU, they are a tough matchup for us. We don't have anyone (other than sending multiple defenders at him) to keep Carson Towt off the glass. He is a monster.

BJ Kolly is big enough. He had 5 minutes and logged no stats. I was hoping he'd be this year's Olmstead but that hasn't happened so far.

Catching the game on the rewind. Just finished the 1st half…the high post defense was terrible! NAU got into the paint at will with many shots coming at the rim w/ several 2nd chances. Why team rebounding isn’t a thing for the Cats against a team like NAU is troubling. Max and Pat barely showed up on the offensive end. Kind of felt like a “normal” half w/ subs coming at predicted times. I’d have hoped by now we’d be seeing all hands on deck and the players w/ hot hands and energy would lead the stats. Not so. The last second shot NAU hit at the end of the half…WUT! How do you even let them catch it!

2nd half notes…. Jabe, Sam, Jed, TP are ABSOLUTELY the heart and soul of this team day in and out! Sam’s front court defense is far and away the best on the team. Stop if me if you’ve heard this before, despite Walkers offensive prowess, his defense is a liability. Max not playing in the 2nd half is becoming a theme. Despite what many say, he’s NOT our best player.

The 3 o board sequence at the end of the game, there was a couple questionable no calls on rebounds. Seemed The whole game was a free for all under the boards! Sooo many missed shots at the rim is troubling. Not sure how to fix that. In the end, the silver linings Logie is happy for but beleaguer’s is just that….sigh. Next game

Maybe have the men play the women this week and see if they can learn something! 8)
