I attended the men's game but I had the women's game going on my phone. Very impressive finish to the game to go 3-0 in the Big Sky.
After the huge disappointment of losing the FCS football championship and then the men losing a 20 point lead in the last 12 minutes, the women provided a needed lift for Bobcat athletics. Great to see Lexi getting back to her old form.
HUGE game now for women at NAU at 2 pm. NAU demolished UM tonight by 20. It will take our A game to beat NAU on the road.

Re: WBB vs UNC
I think MSU definitely has its starting lineup for the rest of the year of Morales, Philip, Martin, Deden, and Dykstra with Chirrick coming in off the bench and playing plenty of minutes. Really excited to watch them play NAU tomorrow to see how they stack up, the Bobcats haven't had any luck at all against NAU the last couple years so it would be nice to see them win one or both of those games this year. MSU is currently #71 in the Net rankings and NAU is #90, then you've got Idaho at #104 and a long drop to the fourth Big Sky team (UNC at #180). The Griz definitely seem to be having a down year on the women's side, must be pretty disappointing for them with how long Holsinger has been there at this point.

So very happy to see Deden back and getting close to her top form. Her experience is showing on both ends of the floor and she has some of the best aggressive and quick defensive hands you could ever ask from a big.
With our depth and use of so many players I think it shows toward the end of games. A good example was Picton in the 4th making steals and buckets that really helped seal the win.
Tough road game coming up on Saturday at NAU. Yes it's going to take the A game from the whole team.

Re: WBB vs UNC
Yeah, Picton came up huge down the stretch to not let UNC get closer than 8 or 9 even when they started hitting a few threes in the fourth quarter. The box score from that game is exactly what will win MSU a lot of games. The big three of Morales, Deden, and Dykstra all in double-figures with the bench players contributing around 20 points. MSU is on a six game win streak and has held every opponent under 60 in that stretch. I'm guessing that will change today with how good NAU is on offense, so someone will need to step up and have a big game on offense for the Bobcats. I'm still waiting for the breakout game for Morales, she has been struggling a little with her shooting but if she gets on a hot streak and can start scoring 20+ on a regular basis MSU gets even more dangerous.Joe Bobcat wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 10:35 pmSo very happy to see Deden back and getting close to her top form.
