WBB vs PSU

Post by DMMDCats » Thu Jan 26, 2023 8:19 pm

Ladies up 13-8 after 1

Uninspired play but I could watch that low post play all night.

Keep it up

Kola is really struggling with the shot tonight. MSU is clearly far more talented and should be able to pull away.

Edit: Kola isn't the only one struggling with the shot tonight. 8-[

Anyone know why Lindsey Hein is not in the building tonight?

Definitely a Cat-Griz hangover here. Cats only made one field goal in the second quarter. Surprised Beattie isn't playing more with how well she has shot lately.

The announcers for the Lady Cats are horrible. Would be nice to have play by play and not discussions the whole time about Portland. Please get someone who knows basketball, they are BORING!

Tough to watch. They're a couple steps slow on both ends. This would be a horrendous loss.

As expected, MSU goes on a 16-2 run after I say how bad they look.

Portland State still beholden to that zone. It's just different and also sucks the life out of the game. Built up a 10 point lead early in the 4th, but stay tuned. This team of ours likes to blow leads and make it exciting to the end.

Better say it again. Could use another run to put it away.

Can't make up my mind as to which is better - 55-21 or 48-14.

Cats win. No announcers will be fired this year due to comments about Portland. Great job everyone! Massive game on Saturday with first place on the line.

Griz with a nice comeback win over Sac. The Bobcats will take first place by 1/2 game heading into Saturday.

Need an old time radio announcer. I used to listen to basketball games on the radio (that was before TV was invented). A good announcer could call the game so you could "see" it.

Dykstra also left court to locker room in 2nd quarter. Never returned to bench.

Wonder who we will have to play against Sac St. hope it is only 24 hr bug.

Love how so many players contributed to that win on both ends of the floor, very balanced team tonight in sync with each other. More of that please.
I posted that exact same thing for the men's game,
These ladies are making some beautiful passes and are tenacious on defense. I think they're going to need to bring their A game against Sac on Saturday. I can't believe the gris squeaked out a win against Sac tonight especially with Gfeller fouled out with 9:22 to go in the game. Natabou will most likely be big trouble unless they can shut her down like they did to Gfeller last Saturday.

For years the weakness of the MSU women's team was on the defensive end allowing way too many open looks, but they sure seem to have emulated MSU's men's team and are winning games with great defense even when the offense struggles. They could've easily been down double digits at half tonight but the defense kept them right in it and as will generally happen they made a run and the superior talent won out in the end. It'll be interesting to see how much gas Sac has left in the tank on Saturday, they only played 7 players tonight in Missoula.

I sync the game up with Daniel's live broadcast - he does a great job.
