What a great win for the Lady Cats! 2 years of eligibility, and it sounds like she really had a great visit fitting in with the team. I think she was slated as a starter for the Huskies with the Wynn, prior to her departure. Excited to meet her and watch her play!

This is a great addition. Darian will be a senior next year, so we needed some strength at guard and it's great to have an Aussie back on the team!!

Thanks. I managed to miss that news. That career at MSU didn’t last long.

Casey Ardern, a native of Australia, entered the transfer portal earlier this month, Binford confirmed.
The 5-foot-5 guard was a member of MSU’s three-player freshman class and was set to redshirt this season. Binford said Ardern is back home but remains enrolled at MSU in online classes for the upcoming semester. She is no longer on MSU’s online roster.
“I think a big part of it is an opportunity for playing time,” Binford said. “We want to support her as best we can. Just trying to see what options are available for her.”

This is what the University of Washington said about Grace when she signed with them.

Also, she is a southpaw, just like one Tori Martell. Hope that is a good attribute of things to come.imacat wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 3:49 pmThis is what the University of Washington said about Grace when she signed with them.

Yes indeed it is. Grace and mom were at the Idaho game on Monday. Just couldn’t say anything yet.CatRowdy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 9:08 amWhat a great win for the Lady Cats! 2 years of eligibility, and it sounds like she really had a great visit fitting in with the team. Amazing how much, just in the UW head-shot photo, that she looks like Darian. I think this improves the team.BobcatDel wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 4:16 pmYes indeed it is. Definitely need a good ball handler to step in for Van Sickle after she graduates.

Van Sickle graduated last spring and is technically a junior eligibility wise (redshirted one year and has the free covid year). However, I seriously doubt she'll play another year.
Speculating here, but another reason for adding Beasley could not only be the departure of Ardern, but also the health of Mattie Olson, the high school point guard recruit for next year from Idaho Falls, who is out for her senior season with a knee injury.

Thanks for the update. Definitely needed someone in that slot, then. Getting Grace was a good job by Coach Bin. I think she has a few connections over that way.arvcat2 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 6:03 pmVan Sickle graduated last spring and is technically a junior eligibility wise (redshirted one year and has the free covid year).
