Need to play hard for 40 minutes and not get discouraged (keeping playing D) during dry spells.
NAU will keep and extra eye on Anderson to make sure he doesn't have another big game, so the money players need to play well.

Nice win! The Montana trip is going to be a very tough place to get a road break-through, I believe.
And man, NAU cannot like the trend they are on: get down by over 20 in the 2nd half and then use a furious comeback attempt to try to draw close. That's a tough way to make a living, especially on the road.
UNC edged Eastern to go 2-0 on the road. Granted it was eastern and psu, but road wins are road wins.

Best thing that could've happened to them. A big 30-point blowout win would've just given them a false sense of being better than they are. This wasn't Duke vs. Occidental or even Duke vs. Wake Forest. NAU isn't anywhere near as bad, nor is MSU anywhere near as good, as they were in the first half and early second. If anything MSU learned how, or why, to not panic and what to do when the wheels are falling off, which is not get discouraged and keep playing good, fundamental defense. Once you start dwelling on your offense when the other team is making a run, they gotcha.SACCAT wrote:Cats did EVERYTHING they could to blow this game. I hope Coach Huse has a bit of a chat with the team to remind them that it isn't a good idea to give up 40 points in the last 11 1/2 minutes of a game...play hard for all 40 minutes, please! Great win anyway, the Bobcats were fantastic for the first 30 minutes of the game. Will get a lot of wins if they can play at or near that level consistently.SACCAT wrote:Cats did EVERYTHING they could to blow this game. We have no idea how to finish a game, Good god Cats.

Re: CATS VS. NAU 4pm TODAY @ THE BRICK!!!!
Another huge win and also a bit of surprise. The surprise was that we were able to get out to such a big lead and hold Cam Jones totally in check.
Both wins this weekend would have been more satisfying with better finishes. Bobby Howard is too gun shy taking it out of bounds when they pressed. The first option was open, but he kept hesitating and then it usually turned into disaster. NAU hit some bombs at the end to close the gap quite a bit-on the other end we weren't even trying to score-just run clock. But that's all got to get better-obviously.
Howard was awesome tonight except at the freethrow line. He got a sarcastic cheer from the crowd when he finally hit one-and he acknowledged it in an equally sarcastic manner. In his defense-his freethrows were all in-and-out and not bricks.
I've been critical of Singleton lately, but he played well tonight. He had that knuckleball outside shot falling and when that happens we're tough to beat. Truejecue also played very well-he's a good one.
Reed sparked us on big runs in both halves.
I hope Anderson is okay. It looks like an ankle sprain. Just when he was really breaking through.
I was surprised that NAU is smaller than us. They have all the skill you want, but are undersized. Their center (Johannson?) is very good though.
A nice 2-0 start. Sure would be sweet to pick up a road win now.

I think it was the Chalupa pressure that finally got to the Cats down the stretch (If you don't know what I'm talking about, then you should've been at the game!)
Two good wins. We'll take them. Tough to keep the pressure on when you are up by 30. Sure hope Cody rehabs quickly.
