Battle of the QB's...

Post by Obzerver » Mon Nov 01, 2004 10:49 pm

Looking foward to seeing both QB's who should be battling it out for first team All-Conference come 11/13. No, not Ochs and Lulay but Lulay and Meyer. Both QB's have faced WSU, NAU, PSU and ISU. Here's their combined numbers for those games.

Lulay-87 for 154(56%)1206 yards, 3 int's, 5 TD's

Meyer-64 for 84(76%)964 yards, 1 int, 11TD's

obzerver,

If those were the #'s used to determine 1st team QB, TL would have to be happy with 2nd team.

I love TL, but those #'s are CLEARLY in Meyer's favor.

Anyone who thinks otherwise should be a griz fan instead because they simply cannot grasp reality.

The Eagles have played very well. This argument might be decided on the 13th. Go Jacks!

I must be a Griz fan then.

Lulay-87 for 154(56%)1206 yards, 3 int's, 5 TD's

Hmm, you must be a Griz, alright. You compare Ochs' season stats(excluding last weekends loss, I noticed) to Lulay's and Meyer's stats thru 4 games against common opponents. Hmm 7 games vs. 4 games... I wonder how that Ochs puts up such great numbers?

I hope this is just a silly oversight on your part; unless you're trying to look like a complete buffoon. If so, you're doing a fabulous job!

Keep up the good work...

Gavin,

You beat me to the punch. Typical of a moronic grizzly fan not to READ the post and see the comparison being made.

BTW, duhgriz, when was the last time a griz QB was Big Sky POW 3 consecutive weeks?

Oops. Sorry about that, I'm an idiot. I just took that off the school site. Here is the adjustments.

Ochs 148 for 235 (63%) 4 int's, 13 TD's.

I don't think he threw a pick, it doesn't have one listed but I could be a complete buffoon.

I don't think it has happened in the 13 straight playoff years, then again I could be wrong.

Here's Ochs numbers for three of the four that have common opponents with Lulay and Meyer, WSU, PSU, ISU...UM has NAU this Sat. By the way, Lulay and Meyer are 4-0 against the four common opponenets and Ochs is 2-1 against the three common opponenets.

Ochs- 53 for 78(67%)785 yards, 1 int, 7 TD's

I think a big stat that gets over looked is scrambling. Ochs is quick, but I felt Meyers was better in that area. He seemed to have picked up quite a few first downs on 3rd and long. He's very fast. I'm not sure how Lulay has looked in that department this year. Meyer is making big plays in more ways than one and is the complete package.

My point on this post is you can't leave out Ochs when talking top QB's. He is right up there too. I would expect Lulay will run away with it next year unless there is somebody that has a break out year.

Ochs overall passing yards are 1931.

Fair enough!!! And especially since he has been able to stay healthy this year.
