Football early signing period

The Football early signing period is from Dec 20, 2006 to Jan 15, 2007. Only players who can and will be enroling in school for the second semester can sign. Also only new players who sign early can participate in spring football.
Mostly this applies to D-1 drop downs and JC players, but not always.

Yes, some high school kids actually fall in this area. Example is a QB (Canfield) that went to Oregon State in Jan 2005 after playing for his high school team that previous fall. He just finished early.
I believe it is actually a blackout period for High School kids right now. Coaches can't make contact until after new years.
