Bobcat Nation Jinx-breaking Team - The HellCats

Post by HelenaCat95 » Thu Dec 21, 2006 11:50 am

As you know, I have shouldered the "burden" of breaking any and all Bobcat jinxes this past FB season. Sometimes I have even been successful  .

I am happy to continue in my role. But I would like to expand our horizons and bring new jinx-breakers into the fold. After all, jinx-breaking is no fun alone.

If you are interested in joining the jinx-breaking team, which I am calling (unless someone has a better name), the Hell-Raising Cats, or HellCats for short, please put your name on this thread/list.

What does jinx-breaking consist of? All sorts of things, but the only thing I've found that actually works is - Drinking.
When a jinx arises (such as Matt Daugherty actually picking us to win a game) we will spring into action and mix up the Jinx Mojo.

I have not fully fleshed out the duties and responsibilities, but I do forsee this. Our Winter-Conditioning program will be on your own. Although please feel free to trade recipe and drink suggestions based on your training regimen and experiences in jinx-breaking.....I am especially interested in hearing from Red Sox fans as to what worked for them.

I also believe that we will have a pre-season conditioning event - as a team. Perhaps at the Spring Game, and definitely a team event during Fall Camp (August).

Obviously this is not well thought out.....yet. So please submit your suggestions along with signing up for the team.

Maybe we could even get an event sponsored by Budweiser. Who knows.

Welcome to the HellCats.

Could you use a non-drinker (not by choice) as your mascot --- or perhaps just as the team's whipping boy?

I am hoping that you are joining....along with Au Blue and Catamaran - Ponycat has signed up, but he doesn't know it yet.

BAC, are you in? You can be in charge of our Bay Area Chapter.

Non-drinkers are always welcome. Non-drinkers have a special role to play - you are the KEYMASTERS. You will help ensure that the HellCats live to jinx-break for another day.

Count me in. The first round starts in 55 minutes. (I make it a point to not drink alcohol before noon unless there's a special occasion such as the sun came up or I had a few too many the night before...

Count me in, I condition nightly.

I can't do the Budweiser thing though...............Johnny Claussen weaned me on Rainier many, many years ago and I'm forever faithful to Vitamin R.

BTW, Thanks for shouldering the load single handedly this past year........... you truly are a martyr! :suds: :suds:

We do not have an official sponsor - yet. I'm more of a Coors light guy myself. But for the right sponsor, I can be bought

Martyr? I can only say or spell that word when I am not curse breaking.

I would hope you take exception to the term martyr (at least I don't think you're dead yet in the truest sense of the word.)

No real post here. I just noticed that we had 13 posts on this thread, and for obvious reasons I did not want 13 posts on a curse breaking thread.

It is a tough job HellCat but you have done it well! I congratulate your diligence in completing the task each week when needed and I am sure you will have some solid membership. Although I am not supposed to consume alcohol (medical reasons) I will gladly join your group and have one to assist in the jinx breaking ceremonies. You bleed true-blue and gold.

Thanks for the kudo's. Your post sparked an idea/motto for the HellCats. If this is not appropriate, mods please delete.
