Checking the list of 1-AA schools, I hope Davies gets on the horn and calls some of the other schools and gets our schedule out fairly soon. I'd hate for our staff to go through the same kind of goat rope they went through last year when Davis dumped us for TCU and we had to drop Humboldt.

Yeah. It hasn't been updated for over a year. I assume two of the four dates listed for 2007 have been satisfied by A & M and I heard a rumor about another 1-AA school but no confirmation as yet. That still leaves two if the one home game is confirmed.

I had initially hard Texas A&M, Southern Utah and one to be named later (Adams State ?).

Thanks. I'd heard rumors of Southern Utah and a DII to be named later.

I can take southern utah and texas a and m but please not another D2. usually when we schedule one we pay dearly, no matter if we win or not.

if we do schedule a D2 or lower can we schedule Carrol?

What possible upside is there for MSU (or UM) to schedule Carroll ... or any MT NAIA school, for that matter?

You blow them out, and you are a bunch of meanies beating up on the smaller, weaker, Montana kids. You make it close, and you never hear the end of it. You lose, and you just as well write off the entire season.

And you won't sell any more tickets for a game like this, either (especially as MSU will be selling out all its home games next season).

at least we are having one of those games against the local in-state compatation. I would prefer to see a all D1AA schedule, but knowing full well that isnt going to happen i would love to see a MSU - Carrol game hyped up, or can you imagion the post - game after a MSU - Tech game?

what im trying to say is that if we are going to schedule below division games might as well make them local showcase games

Preferably, instead of a D2 I would like to see one of the non-schollie I-AA schools come in. Get San Diego up here and see what they can actually do. A few years ago we brought in Moorehead State. It's lower level competition but at least it is still DI.

I know we have absolutely no influence with the coaches and administrators that don't want the 12th game, but geezzz wouldn't it be great for all of us that'd like to see how our team next year measures up against NDSU and we could still get our six home games? Downside of that would be the obvious fact that the several 1-AA schools that easily get seven home games would then schedule eight and you run the risk of being a bubble playoff team again.

And for what it's worth, my other half told me she wants me to "upgrade" our season tickets next year because of the seats we were able to get against Furman but I'm curious as to whether or not that's going to be an option next year. Our season tickets sold out fairly rapidly last year and I assume they'll go faster this year. I can't wait for the first week of February to see who the coaches bring in, spring football, and next year!
