Christoff Etc.
After Claggett and Daly's comments in the paper...I can see how much they like playing for Coach Christoff and staff. He should stay
I guess we can only hope...

Why not? Explain your reasoning. I think he deserves a shot if in fact we need to fill the position. Our defense has been our strength over the years, and much of the credit needs to go to Rob.cat ballou wrote:I just don't think he is ready for that position yet.bobcatbob wrote:I would like to see Christoff get a shot at the HC position!

Agreed. Christoff does an amazing job. He gets the most out of his players, gets them to play hard, can motivate, and has great football knowledge. It is very true that much of our defensive success is because of him. What you have to remember is that you can bring in the guy with the biggest background..on and on...but the players have to respect him and he has to be able to get them to play hard. Christoff can get that done. For all you naysayers...how well do you know Christoff? Have you played for him? If not, ask those who have and do. Or read the papers this week.

Agreed...I know Rob, I would say, pretty well. Not best friends, but definitely more than just "high how are ya." Anyway, there was a very good reason that Rob was promoted to DC this year...HE's A DAMN GOOD COACH! Ya, he may have made some rookie mistakes, but Krames let him make the decisions and then provided the much needed guidance afterwards. That said, I think Rob is well on his way to becoming a head coach somewhere. I do think that he is still green enough that being the head coach at MSU is probably very unlikely for him at this time. I can see him coming back as HC down the road, however. I would be thrilled if he remained at MSU, but I think he'll go with Krames and be the DC at Idaho, for reasons of more experience and more $$$.Hardhitter wrote:Agreed. Christoff does an amazing job. Montana State IS what "they" think Montana is.

For what it's worth, the powers that be 24 years ago said the same exact thing about one of my favorite people and coaches, we went with Doug Graber (for one year) and Dennis was hired by.......You da Ho! Man, ain't it great to sit back and watch the irony and all the jealousy come creeping out just a few years laterWalkOn79 wrote:Why not? Explain your reasoning. Just because a prior assistant didn't do well as HC shouldn't doom all the rest. I really think Christoff can make the jump. He has all the good qualities and grew up in a coaching family. He has been around it all his life. I thnk he has learned a lot from Kramer too ove the past few years. It would bring a continuity to the program.
He should at least be considred!

Some reasons why not:WalkOn79 wrote:Why not? Explain your reasoning. I think he deserves a shot if in fact we need to fill the position. -don't think he would want the position
-doesn't like the public eye
-would struggle with PR and dealing with boosters
-doesn't like interviews
-been coordinator for 1 year
-needs some more experience
-don't know how well he could manage a coaching staff
Some reasons why:
-great coach
-great mind for the game
This is just my opinion. I think he is a great coach and I would hate to see him go.

Nothing. Just pointing out the group of folks who have paced the sidelines in Bozo is extensive and growing. One of the few areas real estate didn't take a beating over the last two years and, well, they must have had really good realtors all those years ago when they knew enough to get in on something that holds to the old maxim: buy what appreciates and rent what doesn't.old wise one wrote:Cat grad,

Based on comments here - he sounds very much like Boise State's new coach - Peterson.
Didn't want the job
Not interested in Pr
Players love him
limited experience as OC
etc...
He has gone 12-0 and head for the BCS. If he is a good coach and the players love him. The rest will take care of itself.
