According to Dennis Patchin on KXLY In Spokane, John L Smith will be the new football coach at Idaho pending the negotiation of a five year contract with a 1 million dollar buy-out clause. Looks like Kramerica is still in Bozo..

If you go to the "Idaho Bound" thread, the Spokesman Review says that Smith has withdrawn his name.

It's actually kind of funny ... apparently the TV guys are just as clueless as the rest of us.

This says he took his name out of consideration. What in the wide wide world of sports is going on here.

Is this Fuller incident hurting Kramer's chances with Idaho?

Generally, when someone takes their name out of consideration, it is a face-saving thing meaning they weren't going to get the job. The talk about the terms of a potential deal may or may not have been a smokescreen.

In the article they say that Idaho may be expanding its search. Could this possibly mean that with MSUs problems today Idaho is backing off?

I took that to mean that the writer was talking out of their ass because they needed to fill space. I doubt this news would have circulated through the cycle that quickly.

It might explain why there was no announcement this afternoon when the rumors said one was expected. That's about when the news about Fuller-etc started to break.

This may hurt Kramers chances of getting the Idaho job! There has been just too much of this stuff. Timing is everything-wow this is about as bad as timing gets!

The Fuller thing went pretty quick. Posts started rolling in at about 2 today and it was on the 5:30 news. Information travels fast.

i don't think this incident hurts kramers chances as much as one might think...ericson (sp) had many many more problems at miami and osu than kramer has had and dennis got hired because he had a winning program...the legal problems never seemed to be an issue...

It's a bit of a stretch to compare Kramer's record with Erickson's

I don't think todays news will make any difference in whether or not UI hires Kramer or if Kramer will continue his career at MSU.

$hit happens folks!!

This by no means reflects my concern with allegations against a current athlete (the fact that the others involved are 'former' attests to the fact that 'they' were dismissed for a reason), and now we apparently have both former BB and FB players involved. JMHO

I still hope that it doesn't affect us getting a good coach if Kramer goes.
