One more name

IF Kramer is to take the job at Idaho, I have another name to add to the short list, which by the way, isn't so short anymore. Paul Petrino, OC at Louisville. Born in Butte, raised in Helena, Carroll College All-American QB. His Cardinal offense led the nation in total offense this year (I believe). He has prior stints at Utah State and Idaho, so he is very familiar with the recruiting area. Would be an excellent candidate.

He would be an AWESOME Candidate - I believe his family has some Bobcat Ties - didn't he have some relatives play for the CATS?

Don't think we could get him but he would be at the top of my list...

I think his price would be WAY out of line with what the Cats could offer...

Why go from a BCS bowl team and a chance at coaching a major program to taking a FCS program?

if you're keeping score, France gave us Burgundy wine, cigarettes, berets, B.O., brie and the Napoleon complex-Bill Simmons

To get Head Coaching experience is the only reason.

No! We are running a very clean program now and any insinuations about the Petrinos will always go back to their beginnings, such as the carroll chains they gave to Capitol High, the Brother and his situation with Auburn...we can't afford the Butte-Missoula-Wallace-Spokane image in Bozeman  I want to see us do it the right way even if it puts us back in the dumps. That open honesty, brutal as it may be, is the one thing that has endeared Coach to all of us.

Really? We lost scholarships due to grads, we've had several off the field incidents, ETC. I don't think our program is that clean. I hope the next coach can run a more clean program.

I think we are a long way from even NCAA sanctions. Each and every incident we've read about have been dealt with swift, severe and fair justice. I might add Coach cut the off field incident who was a part of his program long before the incident and the basketball player involved was only removed due to grades. So...I still think Coach ran a very clean program and wonder what we as fans expect in the type of institution we are all products of? Our student athlete football player graduation rate still exceeds the overall student body graduation rate by a large margin.

Are you sure this is true? I hadn't heard that sort of thing said for quite awhile ... and the fact that we did lose scholarships for a couple years due to low graduation rates by football players led me to believe that we weren't doing so hot in this area.

I agree with Randy that graduation rates and off-the-field misconduct is an area where I am hoping a new coach (assuming that Kramer leaves) will be able to make significant improvements while also continuing the march towards building a perenially NC contending football team.

Have you seen one on-field incident similar to Miami   Always compare yourself to the best; heck, we didn't even compare to Harvard for off-field incidents or on field for that matter. It's all relative.
