Big Sky Confrence Title Game

Post by bobcatgrad2005 » Sat Nov 04, 2006 4:09 pm

ALL RIGHT!!!! A chance to win this thing! You have to give it to this football team for playing through the ugliness earlier this season and making it a worthwhile trip to Missoula this year!!!

Let the 'Cat-Griz season begin!

Now we get two weeks to talk about the Griz and a Big Sky Championship. We should have blown this team out but we keep on making mistakes. This is who we are and we are good enough to beat those Grizzlies.

Agreed. Congrats to the cats for hanging in after a tough start and at least giving themselves a chance. Way to go.

Agreed, but our rush defense was scary good today against a very dynamic option attack. We did give up some big pass plays, but I don't think the cats have any 6'6", 227 pound monsters like Poly.

If you can git 'er done, does it really matter that you're not 6' 6" and 227# ?

I agree, Montana was scary good on defense today but they did not look good offensively. I like how the cats match up with them. I think our defense is equally as good and our offense might be just a bit better. It is our special teams that scare me. The fiz also have a great turnover ratio. They do seem to get it done in crucial situations.

This should be a good game. I see it similar to last year.

No, I'm just saying that our secondary doesn't normally give up that many big pass plays, but we did when faced with a reciever who was nearly impossible to defend; thus I wouldn't expect us to give up that many against the cats, although they have a couple great receivers

I'm sorry, but the Bobcats' receivers could run circles around Cow Poly's receivers. Their one guy is pretty good, but they have no one else. I'd take Jefferson over any other receiver in the country, including David Ball.

I'm not trying to smack here, but I don't think our D had much trouble against ISU's top rated offense; I don't think we'll have trouble against the cats. That being said, our offense has been anemic the last few games- plenty of talent, but Swogger just hasn't been consistent, and our play-calling has been incredibly uninspired. With MSU's solid D, I see the brawl being very similar to today's game.

The Cats haven't really played a great game on both sides of the ball (and special teams) all year ... I think they are due. The timing couldn't be better.

I like the fact, this year only, that we are playing in Missoula. We have played our best games away from home on artificial turf. Yippee. we win.
It will be a fun game and the score will be up there.

Oh, man, I forgot about the fake turf and how well Jefferson plays on it...

Likewise for the Griz, actually.

I think the defenses are a toss up and which ever offense plays the best without big mistakes gets the win. Griz have home field but I like the way we play in away games on turf. It will be a great game and the Great State of Montana should be proud of both these teams. Maybe just the first meeting of these teams this season. :D

That game will be decided on turnovers and the refs.

As much as I appreciate the strategy behind having 2 weeks before the 'Cat-'Griz game, it also makes me a nervous wreck for the next two weeks. Someone should track the drop in productivity throughout the state of Montana over the next 13 days. I'm not even in the state, and I'm not sure if that makes it better or worse!

The truly bad thing about the bye week is that The Cats are something like 1-4 under Kramer coming out of the bye week. Last year was the first time we won. This year, we do have a few injuries and definitely some work to be done, so maybe the bye came at a good time.

My biggest concern with the bye week is discipline. We have been staying out of town in a hotel on Friday nights for a reason, and I'm concerned that with an extra week of "time on their hands", players run the risk of getting in trouble or losing focus.

This is a crucial time for the Seniors and Captains to really make sure that everyone stays in line, and so that everyone is at their best for the Conference Championship. This is what they have worked so hard for, and they are here now. Don't jeapordize it for something silly.

Correction!

I would bet Kramers ben wa balls that the kitties will be playing for a SHARE of the Big Sky Championship, while the Griz will be playing for THE OUTRIGHT Championship.
