----- and crow. Congrats on a great win. I mentioned that you would have to score more then 35 to best NAU and that I didn't think there was any way the Cats could do it. Despite some pressure, Carpenter showed poise and I couldn't believe the rush you guys had. Not the same team I have seen the past weeks.
Despite what some think, I wanted you guys to beat NAU. But only because now everybody but the Griz have a conference loss. Anyway, you'll have a tough go against PSU, they are a talented team. We were lucky to have played them without Smith and prior to the new QB having the full playbook at his disposal.

Thanks. I thought the Griz played well; probably should have had more points. It would have an even more interesting game if PSU wouldn't have had that first quarter they did and you guys would have finished on a few drives that came short.
But, all in all, both teams played hard. I actually enjoyed watching the game aside from the tv announcers who just about drove me nuts

Don't get me wrong, I don't care for the job Hermes and Jeremy do, but they are no more biased then any home team annoucers.

I guess I could see it if UofM was producing this game. But, these guys are being paid as journalists to cover the game. Maybe it's the rivalry effecting this, but as a neutral observer of the game, it was irritating to constantly listen to points of viewed severely skewed to one side.
I probably can't say much here because if I ever covered my favorite sports team, it would be impossible for me to be impartial.

how could the announcers of the Griz game determine that the players of PSU were deserving of 'flags' for there extra verbage to coaches on the sidelines?
the announcers drive me nuts on how bad they cry

I do not necessarily care for the KPAX announcers either, especially Hermes, (I do like Grady B., however, he is more knowedgeable than any other MT TV or radio announcers), and while they may sound a little like homers, lets remember, it IS a MISSOULA station. And besides that, listen to your Cat announcers on either 100.7 radio, or MAX Media TV. In my opinion they are just as bad. It all depends on what team you're rooting for!!!

probably some truth to that.

I've never heard any Cats announcer refer to the Cats as "the good guys."

I for one cannot stand to listen to Jeremy the Nasal Jorgenson. He is the worst announcer I have ever heard call a game. Put him on the griz channel and let all griz faithful hear him to their hearts content. But keep him off the main channels because he destroys an enjoyable game. IMO not that I'm bitter are anything.

He is bad

He really is terrible. I'm not sure who is more annoying between him and Gurnsey...

Holien puts them all to shame......but, as was pointed out, homers are homers, and Holien is king of the homers.....I still think some griz fan should tape Holien and send the recording to ESPN for "Homer Call of the Week." Holien and Gurnsey would win every week. Especially if Gurnsey is doing his "WooHoo" in the background - that's just a priceless home call.

George Geise has an article in the Trib today claiming there is no home-field advantage in the Big Sky anywhere other than Missoula. His argument doesn't really support his conclusion and the conclusion seems off-topic two days after the Griz were on the road.
I love the Griz as much as or more than Geise does but I find his constant written fawning on them more annoying than anything Gurnsey or Holien say or do. Geise is like store-bought pasta sauce out of the jar -- all sugar and no substance.

George can't win, I don't care for this article but he gets slammed by th Griz faithfull for not doing enough to balance out Bobcat reporter Scott Mansch. I think it is pretty early in the season to proclaim a team doesn't have a homefield advantage in the Big Sky, and I don't like his vailed slam on the Cats for their field condtions. I not saying field condtions aren't an issue, just that both teams play on the same field and adapting to what is presented is more vital. Field conitions did not win a single game for the Bobcats last year.
George's problem is he has it good now. He is in the twilight of his career, is the editor and is more interested in playing golf then providing great articles. In other words, he is coasting but who can blame him. Mansch is bias, but he puts out some good stuff. Anyway, don't let Geoge get to you or any other report for that matter.

I've seen those criticisms too but I don't think they're valid. Geise basically covers the Griz; Mansch basically covers the Cats. So far, so good. It's a way to divide up the work that makes sense. But I've been reading their columns every week since moving up here in 1997 and Mansch is far more objective than Geise. I think Mansch maintains the right professional distance. Geise generally does not.

Playing in Wash/Griz stadium is like being a Hooker in Butte on Saturday night. You know you are going to get screwed.

By 23,000 screaming Griz Fans.
I am of course referring to both sides of that metaphor (or is it a simile).

Gease, As I like to refer to him as, is terrible. He has only negative crap to say about CATS and how wonderful the friz are. He is just another band wagon jumper like 90% of friz fans.
