That was my thought when reading this and the SportsNetwork poll. As much as it hurts, the Cats should not be receiving poll votes at this time.

The 7 votes we got were from the 7 teams left to play us on the schedule. They all want to beef up their strength of schedule and dont want the Cats dragging it down so much

I voted last night and have to say that the 'Cats were not in my top 25.

PSU had some significant injuries against Cal. Sawyer Smith is out, maybe for a few weeks, and the back-up is uncertain. They had a 3rd string guy out who actually did OK, but losing the top 2 QBs has to hurt since the Viks aren't running the ball very well.

PSU has a good team this year, but with Oregon still on the schedule I don't see how they stay healthy enough to challenge Montana for the title this year.

Going into conference play, it's Montana's conference to lose IMO. The 'Cats are such an enigma at this point I have no clue where they fit.

Square peg in a round hole...perhaps they can wrap it.

The griz have only played only 2 games this season. Given the spread in the levels at which they played against, at this point I wouldn't venture where either the Cats or griz fit right now. With a couple of back-to-back conference wins for the griz, I would have to agree with you especially if the Cats don't get by ewu. However there's plenty of games to be played, and my optimism holds that there might yet be a little spark in one of the nation's oldest rivalries.

I sadly didn't have a top 25 vote for the Cats either.... but, ya know, as scarey for me as is was as a Griz fan it was to see the Cats in the top 20 initially, it surely was neat to see the State of Montana represented twice in the polls... who cares about PSU...

Furman is ranked too low.
