Couple thoughts on Sat. game. 1) Very disappointed in SOME fans cheering when Jefferson was taken out in the fourth quarter, although he played a poor game, it is not as if he intentionally dropped those passes (both this week and last week), and fans need to realize that losing hurts him more than them, and cheering when he was taken out was very disgusting 2) Why does Kramer allow some players, such as Jefferson, to make several mistakes in a game before he removes him, whereas other players make one mistake and they are pulled

#1 You're right; no need to slam a player during the game when he's getting pulled. Far more harm then good.
#2 No good answer; especially after he said last week he was willing to reach through his coaching staff to pull players who were making the same mistakes. He made a huge point of telling us he would not wait around for his assistant coaches to make a correction when the players were not performing.

That may be the PC or motherly thing to say, but what are these "men"....4th graders? Don't they know the score? If they continue to screw up then they can expect a certain amount of derision! Hell if they were in the stands watching someone else do the same thing they would probably do something similar. It seems to me that they have to stop being coddled and be responsible for their assignments. The only way to stop the slide is for MEN to step up and be football players.

I'm sorry, I feel differently on this. I don't boo the players at any time. I think it is unproductive and has no point in the true meaning of competition and the game. I didn't like the booing/cheering either when some players were being taken out. We all knew it was going to take some time for our offense to come around (and now we have 2-3 starters on offense OUT). Booing them serves no purpose at all in my opinion.

Let the players work through this and I guarantee you we will get better this year as the year goes on. I think all the preseason hype and the Colorado win put HUGE pressure on this team to succeed only to have it shot down after the Chadron loss. STICK WITH THE TEAM/COACHES/PLAYERS people! They need our support!

Totally agree... dont boo the players. Even though I thought Carps should not have been on the field, when Rolo did go in and the student side went nuts... I really felt for Cory. Its not like the kid isnt trying out there.

Jefferson, again, I did not want to see him on the field, but did not like the way he was treated coming off it. He did not deserve to be booed despite the poor performance he had Saturday.

What I dont understand is why Kramer lets some kids stay in there so long, yet others get such a short leash. Some players look like they are afraid to make a mistake, and others can do no wrong.

But as far as booing the players, or cheering when someone else goes in... I think it is totally classless

I'm not worried about the PC thing to say. I'm simply thinking about the right thing to do. We don't know everything going on on the field and through the players minds. For all you know they're out there trying their damndest. If WE knew everything then WE'd be on the field either playing or coaching. The players deserve a certain amount of respect for showing up and playing. I'm fine with pulling a guy when he's not doing the job; but there's no reason to boo him.

If you play sports in front of thousands of fans, there is a chance you are going to get booed.

I myself didn't boo, but this past performance was the absolute worst I have ever seen the Cats play. I haven't been around as long as some of you, I only started liking the Bobcats my sophmore year at MSU, I went to the games and ironically I think the first game I went to, Tyler Thomas was benched and Lulay was thrust into the game. I'm not used to seeing such debacles, and I would bet that 90% of the students at the game weren't either.

When the crowd cheered when Rolo went out I didn't think of it as booing Carpenter but as a cheer that the coaching staff finally realized that we needed to change something. I don't think the crowd as much cheered for Rolo/against Carpenter as they were cheering the coaching staff making changes. At least that is how I felt about it.

I am sorry but I was calling for Rolo at the beginning of the 3rd quarter.

My feelings exactly on this one. Guess I didn't notice the booing/cheering when Jefferson came out.

I wanted a change at QB too. I like how you put that on Carps/Rolo.

Hey folks, how nice was it to see Tyler Lulay catch some balls out there Saturday - that was easily the highlight of the day for me. I hope Kramer lets that kid play now. He's got hands, he's got heart, he's got desire. Just because he isnt as fast or tall as some of the others doesnt mean he doesnt get it done as good or better than some others (no names mentioned) do.

Personally, I wasn't booing when Jefferson came out - I was cheering to see another Lulay on the field.

It was great to see Lulay on the field....and he did not disappoint.

I've also got to admit, after one of Tyler's catches they played the old "lulay, lulay, lulay lulay" song. For one small moment, I got the old chills back (or maybe it was the beer).

My 6 year old daughter before the game Saturday asked us why we hadn't gotten to sing the Lulay song the week before. Her face sank when we told her that Travis wasn't playing anymore. We told her that his brother still played for the Bobcats and she immediately had to know what number and constantly watched for him. She was ecstatic when they played the Lulay song after his catch!
