On the booster side in the section that I sit in (and at least another section that my wife's uncle sits in) the space is never full because they are reserved for corporate tickets. Even at Cat/Griz last year, there was at least 8 untaken seats around me during the game (the location of these seats is definitely some of the best in the stadium).
So, I'm wondering if these tickets could be sold back to the university if they are going to go unused so that a person walking up to the game could buy one of these reserved section seats. Part of this thought comes from the fact that a buddy of mine last weekend tried to come to the game just after the start of the second half and was turned away because the stadium was "sold out". If these tickets had been available for sale, he would have been able to buy a ticket to at least sit somewhere.
I would recommend a sticky on our site for people whose companies maybe have tickets for the weekend's coming game that are going to go unusued as well.
Is this a pipe dream?

Re: Corporate seats empty
I like the sticky idea. I have two "extra" season tickets this year, and if the usual folks that I would give them to can't make it, I would love to give them to someone from the "Nation". (they are both accounted for this weekend).barechestcat wrote:On the booster side in the section that I sit in (and at least another section that my wife's uncle sits in) the space is never full because they are reserved for corporate tickets. Last weekend I ended up with one extra ticket in my pocket that I tried to give away, but couldn't. (By the way, my "extra" tickets are not corporate...they are in the end zone - my booster tickets are always accounted for)

Boy are you right! I sit in the GOLD seats and it makes me very mad that they are empty half the time. The two seats next to me have been empty for 7 years with the exception of just 4 games in 7 years. That includes several Cat/griz games. And there are about 20+ of those gold seats that end up in griz fans pockets for the Cat/griz game. If you are not going to use them then don't buy them. MSU has worked very hard to get us back to a sellout situation and then to have the booster seats be unused is unacceptable. MSU did there part by producing a winning product. The boosters/fans need to step up and do their part.

Not necessarily. That doubles the cost of those seats. Some companies buy club access and some buy indoor seats just in case the weather is bad. I have the option each year if I want club access.Ponycat wrote:Don't those seats have access to the Stadium Club. I always assumed if they were empty that person was up in the Stadium Club.

I've got two season tickets in the gold seats, but the company I work for also has a sky box, so usually I end up drinking French champagne and eating Russian caviar in the box, while my actual seats go unused... I've sat in the actual seats once since I've had them (C/G last year). Sometimes I wonder what the people around those seats think when nobody uses them all year, but then again, someone could use my seats every week and I would have any idea about it.
I should probably make a habit of stopping by at least once per game... say hi to the natives so they regocnize me when I actually have to use the seats.
