Man that is one sexy lineup on defense... we don't fall off at hardly any position!

I think we may be a little undersized along the offensive line, at least against the Buffs.

I am also a little suprised that Hirst isn't the LT - that is the guy responsible for the blindside.

Jensen has always been the LT. He shut Murphy down last year so is very good at it.

Hoffy is a Sophomore? I thought greyshirting you don't use up a year doing that?

Are you allowed to greyshirt and then redshirt?

Yeah, but Jensen is solid over there as well, I think the blind side will be fine. Should anything, God forbid, happen to Jensen again I think you might see a switch happen despite what the two-deep says with Hirst moving to the Left side and DeCock coming in on the Right.

I don't think Hoff actually grayshirted. My understanding of gray shirting was that you had to wait to enroll in school (or take very minimal credits) until after the football season was complete, i.e. second sememster. From everything that has been reported he went the full year last year to improve his grades, thus I would think that counted as his redshirt. Maybe I am wrong, but that was the way I understood the situation.

We start 3 seniors on offense and 4 on defense. Man that is good to see--Kramer is really starting to build a program. We have a lot of young (Fr & So) talent.

I believe he is a partial qualifier, which means that he can apply for an extra year if he is on track to graduate. Same situation as Mataio Toilolo (sp?), hopefully with a better outcome though.

I not 100% sure, but from the previous info, I think Hoff did grey shirt. He took 11 hours or less 1st semister (and that is the only semester that matters) and the number of hours puts him below full time student (the players on the team need to take at least 12 hours to be eligible to play). He could then take as many hours as he wanted the 2nd semester and it is fine. Also, he did not attend any practices last Fall (another big thing towards greyshirting).

And yes, Grey shirting is like not attending school and counting as a scholarship to the team. The player could then Red Shirt if wanted. But in Hoff's case, it looks like he will be playing. He doesn't need to gain additional weight or get use to the environment after practicing last spring and this fall. So it's doesn't really matter unless he gets hurt and needs it (like Lex at UM).

As for Jensen, he has started 19 games at LT against Gogong (Cal Ploy and the NFL Eagles and misspelled), Murphy (Griz), Fosmark (Weber), etc. And that was when Lulay had to be protected (since they was no real backup at QB available). For LT you need to be fast, atheltic and smart at recognizing who to take on a blitz. You need to be basically as quick as the speed rusher. So he can probably do the job better than most. When he was hurt, Bolton actually replaced him, not Hirst. However, DeCock is getting better and better. He probably will be a great starter next year at RT with Person backing up both L and R next year.

We are plenty big when DeCock is in there. I was looking at the two deep for the U of Minnesota and we are a lot bigger across the board on both offense and defense. Many D-I schools still have the 230 lbs DE's and 260 lbs tackles.

This is what I noticed too. It is great to see such a mix of sr, jr, and soph not only as starters but at #2's also. Hopefully the days of bell-curve type swings all seniors to all sophomore starters are gone. (how's that for a little Statistics 216 reference for ya?!?)

I noticed from the participation chart, we are only taking 2 QB's? No Rasmussin?

It may mean that the player has used a redshirt season ... or that their 61 home runs were hit in an extended season as compared to Babe Ruth.

An he wins the prize. * means he has used his red shirt.
Answers a question about Hoff (he hasn't used his), the "So" is just wrong.

I believe + means they transfered into MSU
Now your decode ring should work again.
