Since Gatewood is now slated to be probable I will say the Bobcats have a slow going early and then put them away handidly in the 2nd half.
CATS: 38 GRIZ: 0
And yes, I want a shutout. I'm sure our offense will be rusty at first, but our defense should totally shut down this team. I don't think Adams State has scored a point this year yet and they aren't gonna do it against our vaunted defense

What the hey...
Bobcats 58
Grizzlies 7
We'll have touchdown catches by 4 different receivers and 3 different backs. They'll luck into a score on a blown coverage, probably late in the game.
Great time to be a BOBCAT!

MSU 34, Adams State 6 (Hey remember the Adams Atoms jokes we made last time we played them?)
They'll get a couple of field goals, MSU's offense will not look too impressive. Partially because of rust, partially because the coaches won't want to show too much with Cal Poly coming up.

In 13 previous meetings with D2 teams dating back to 1984 the Bobcats have won by an average score of 34.15 to 12.62. I'm going with that.

Adams St is an option team. We did ok with St Mary's last year and it was 40 - 0.
Due to rust and playing second teamers I feel we will score in the 30's. I also expect a shutout. 37-0 with one blown PAT and 1-3 in field goals.

How's this for a dose of sobriety...In 1988 we lost to Mesa State, then an NAIA 10-41!! Same year we beat Boise State 51-7 and Nevada 17-14. Nothing is automatic!

Very good point. Thats why I want our defense to have NO REMORSE and knock these guys out EARLY so it doesn't even come down to a close game. This team needs to step up right out of the gate this year.

You're getting there... with that prediction, you're now upgraded to either a refrigerated BPR or Natty Lite... your choice.

First of all, PBR rules.

It is my beer of choice. Well, that and Rainier.
Anyways, I wouldn't completely underestimate Adams St. They have a pretty good D for their division. They have allowed 29 points in two games, which isn't half-bad. I expect the game to stay close for a little bit, maybe midway into the second quarter, as we get the first game jitters out and everyone starts to play like they should. But our defense will slaughter them nonetheless.
1st Q - Cats 7 Griz 3
2nd Q - Cats 21 Griz 3
3rd Q - Cats 31 Griz 6
4th Q - Cats 37 Griz 13
I think they may score a defensive TD, but that will be the only time they see the endzone. And we have 37 cuz we missed an XP, but made an easy FG.

Well its 2:30 PM in my office, I am finishing up my work and all I can think about is Saturdays football game. I will leave Friday afternoon, drive to my cabin in the northend of Crazies, just notheast of Wilsall. That evening I will watch the sunset over the Bridgers as I consume a couple of adult beverages. Saturday morning I will enjoy a beautiful drive over the Bridgers and arrive at Bobcat Stadium to watch a great football team on a fantastic Bozeman fall day. I just had to ramble as I cannot concentrate on work. GO CATS!!!!

Here is the rundown on Adam's state first two games. I noticed that the receiver who caught their two touchdown passes in the last game, Isa Abdul-Aziz, is 6-6! they have several linemen over 300 pounds and a linebacker named McGurk who seems to be their best player. They sound pretty decent on defense. Offensively they must be inconsistent. It sounds like they started passing out of desperation.
August 28, 2004- The Central Missouri State University Mules, ranked as high as eighth in national preseason polls, were held to just 141 yards of total offense but took advantage of two Adams State College turnovers and a long fourth quarter touchdown scoring drive, to post a 13-0 win over the Grizzlies in both teams’ season-opener at Rex Stadium. A tenacious Grizzly defense, which led the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in 2003, held the highly-touted Mules to just 31 yards of total offense in the first half surrendering only a 31-yard Brandon Starks field goal with 3:21 remaining. That score was set up by a 29-yard Ricky Armstrong interception return that allowed CMSU to start at ASC’s 14-yard line.
September 4, 2004- Unable to score for the first 7 1/2 quarters of the season, the Adams State College Grizzlies put up a furious fourth quarter rally against the Chadron State College Eagles on Saturday only to see that rally run out of time as the Eagles posted a narrow 16-13 victory in both team's Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference opener at CSC's Elliott Field. The win allowed the Eagles to improve to 1-1 while the Grizzlies fell to 0-2 overall. Down 16-0 with with just over eight minutes to go, ASC junior linebacker Jason Semore intercepted CSC quarterback Shawn Eisenreich, setting up ASC's first score of the season, a 53-yard touchdown bomb from Scott Coxon to junior wide receiver Isa Abdul-Aziz, who would end the day with his first two career touchdown receptions during a 8-catch, 114-yard career performance.

Next Saturday I am getting married back in Montana, and so we are heading back there This weekend to have a week to get ready. There is a chance that tomorrow night we will get in the car after work and drive from Bend, OR all the way to Bozeman just to catch the game and then turn around and drive to Kalispell. Call me crazy, but just the idea of possibly being in Bozeman for game days is exciting!!
Hopefully we will be there to join in the fun and watch the Bobcats win 30-6.
Can't wait til Saturday!
