The pick 6 that wasn’t

The second pick 6 we had and was called back, couldn’t we have challenged that? Not sure the playoff rules about coaches challenges. It sure looked like a catch, 3 steps and then a fumble.

the slow mo replay on TV sure as heck looked like control, step, and fumble. Almost identical to the Cats fumble.

Yeah, pretty sure it was a fumble. I think if the game had been closer they would have looked at it? At least I’m telling myself to make it feel better

I actually don’t think you’re wrong. If it was a 2 possession game they would have stopped it and it was definitely a catch and fumble. The game was over and they didn’t want to delay it any more than necessary.

Thought the same.

Not sure it could be reviewed for the TD because the whistle blew as an incomplete pass causing action to stop and the ball to be dead. Maybe they can award possession?

Good call by the officials not to review it imho.

Yeah, inadvertent whistle would end the play. Assuming there was a whistle, which I don’t think anyone heard.
But the fumble would still be awarded based on clear recovery.

If Woods’ fumble was legit, so was that.
But I kind of like that they didn’t look at it because the Griz fans can’t say anything about the officials tipping the scales in MSU’s direction. They literally took a touchdown away from the Cats.

Didn’t they review the Woods fumble? Seems like if they reviewed that, they could review this.

I can't remember where, but I heard somebody say they didn't review it because there was a blown whistle. I never heard a whistle, the players didn't act like it, so I don't know if that's factual or not. It was without a doubt a clear fumble.

Yeah, it didn’t look much different than the Woods fumble. Idk

They should not have blown the whistle. Complete botch job on that call. It was absolutely a fumble.

You mean like in the Rams-Seahawks game Thursday night? Apparently, a whistle does not stop the action. Yes, I'm a bitter Rams fan;-)

A whistle ends the play, but it doesn't take away the ability to give the ball to the team that had a clear recovery of a fumble or backward pass upon review. That play absolutely should have been reviewed.

If they reviewed it and reversed to a fumble, still would have just been our ball. A whistle would have kept it from being a score.

This bugs me. Hanging 55 with a bunch of garbage points after the game was already out of reach would have been pure justice. They deserved that outcome.

If thats true, it's a massive screw up. Even if there was a whistle (which I doubt, these guys are trained to let the play go...and besides, they DID let the play go) then its still Bobcat ball on a clear recovery...even if you take the TD off the board.
