Can South Dakota Get it Done?

Personally, I don't think so. SD's win over Mercer was impressive, but they also struggled this year against Northern Colorado, Indiana State, and Northern Iowa. I think the frizzlies roll.

But the Griz also struggled against ISU and EWU. Depends more on how they are playing now. I also wonder if USD can bring it for a second game on the road in December. I think it could really go any way. The Griz thrive on momentum so if USD can weather the storm or jump on them early, they could definitely pull off the upset. I think the Griz will win, hope they have to work for it but I could see them cruising too.

I think the griz roll at home

however, Brent Pease may be the most schizo play caller around - last week he crafted a perfect game plan and it was executed perfectly, other games he looks like a middle school OC - I think he is the wild card in this game. USD defense is solid, but will have their hands full with griz skill guys Gilman & Worthem

USD lost a lot last spring, they had to rebuild and have been getting better as the season goes on. USD is a little scary right now.

UM has a lot of transfers this year, so it has taken some time for them to get it together this season too.

I have to lean towards UM since they are at home, but I think USD will put up a good fight.

Don’t really care if they can or not, because I know we can.

Yeah, I think they'll roll at home as well. Non-conference teams don't fare well at WGS. They're 4-26 (13.3%) at UM in the playoffs since 2000. Conference teams aren't much better but considering most of the conference teams aren't playoff teams their 19-87 (17.9%) record speaks to this. Obviously, having some background at WGS helps.

The biggest playoff upset is the loss to Wofford when they were #1 and undefeated. They also lost to Coastal Carolina, Cal Poly and UMass during that time span.

UM's record vs BSC teams since 2000:
MSU 7-6
UCD 2-2
EWU 9-3
Idaho 3-1
WSU 9-2
CP 10-2
NAU 9-1
PSU 10-1
SAC 10-1
UNC 8-0
ISU 10-0

Can USD get it done? Yes.

Will they? That's the real question. Go Yotes!

The USD offense will be able to score some points on the mediocre griz D. They have a very good passing QB who could dice the griz secondary IF usd can block the blitz.

But if the griz O plays as well as it did last week, the griz will roll.

And yet the gris are getting 10 at home.

I’m at where let’s have the most important Cat-Gris game in my lifetime and see where the teams stack up against each other for a trip to be favored in the title game.

Both need to win this weekend, of course, but it will be worth a $300 ticket to be at that game.

USD run game and defense seem to be better than SDSU. If RB can get over 100 yds and QB is efficient it will be close. They have to pick up blitz. On D need to keep Gillman below 100 and Wortham below 125 all purpose. Need pressure on Ah Yat.

I think you mean they're giving 10 at home. The griz are favored. Is that what you mean?

Yes; gris are favored by as much as 10. I've also seen 7.5.

USD has a RB who is EXTREMELY quick. If Montana struggles stopping him, watch out. The QB is a statue, but he throws an accurate ball and is like a 17th year senior. Their o-line would have been one of the best in the FCS this year except they got gutted in the spring portal. The new o-line has been playing better as the season goes on.

My hope is that Montana crushes them and then I can get ready to watch round 2 on your field.

Go Jacks!!

I hope I don’t get kicked off the board for being a bad fan. But the combination of us having arguably our worst performance of the season and the Gris having their best makes me very queasy. Of course , that feeling can go away if we smack SFA and look like national title contenders again. I really don’t like the trend of the Gris having their two best and most complete performances back to back, it seems like they’re peaking at the right time. We…definitely didn’t peak Saturday. Thank goodness it’s at home. If both teams win, that very well might be the most nervous I’ve ever been, and I was quite nervous before some “high stakes” games in my time playing sports. And I don’t even want to think about what happens if we lose and then they win the natty. I don’t think I’d ever get over these past two years then.

I watched Mercer earlier this season and frankly I was absolutely shocked at what USD did to them. Based on that performance I would say that USD has a good chance

Griz struggled against ISU? It was 63-7 in the 4th quarter lol
