ESPN Game Day to Eugene, not Missoula

Post by aucat » Mon Nov 17, 2025 9:53 am

A friend of mine said that ESPN had been reserving rooms in Missoula. Wonder how close it got to choosing between Missoula and Eugene?

The Oregon-USC game to me is not THAT significant of a game on the national scene. USC is ranked 16, Oregon 6.

With the new playoff format Oregon-USC is a pretty huge game, Oregon is currently a likely playoff team but could drop out with a second loss. And USC is currently on the outside looking in but could easily put themselves in the conversation for an at-large spot if they beat Oregon in Eugene. I can definitely see why they'd go there. Would've been cool to see another MSU game and Big Sky/FCS location featured though, and they wouldn't have had to deal with zero degree weather this time.

Sounds like somebody was just starting rumors.

ESPN still thinks Missoula isn’t worth a trip even with this rivalry being one of the longest running in the country, and both teams being very good this year. Yawn. Oregon = more $$$ I guess.

While I'm bummed that The Big Sky does not get another Game Day, the upside is that the griz will still be crying at yet another lost chance to host Game Day. We have it; they don't. The victors go the spoils.

Go Cats, Go Ducks!!

griz fans; keeping it classy and gracious in winning since ... well, never.

Saw a headline about Google’s newest AI image generator and thought asking it to recreate the college gameday semi cruising through Missoula on its way from Pitt to Eugene without stopping would be a good test of its capabilities 🤣 Image
