Gameday Thread - Cats. vs Cal Poly (Unofficially of Course)

Post by catscat » Sat Oct 25, 2025 6:15 am

Bobcats back in action after the bye week. Cal Poly up next in an evening game.

The Mustangs did well for a half against the vaunted gris, but as it turns out, you have to play both halves in football. While Cal Poly seems to be improving this year, the Cats, based solely on my observations, should handily handle the Mustangs with the defense reining them in and the Bobcat offense running away from the herd.

Go Cats!!!

Can't make up my mind as to which is better - 55-21 or 48-14, but 34-11 will do.

It’ll be interesting to see if Cal Poly can replicate its defensive performance from last game. That was impressive for three quarters and even the game considering the offense sabotaged it a bit.

They allowed 34 points to UCD and 24 to SAC and 35 to SFA the previous three games. Over 400 yards allowed per game over last four.

MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Some great weather for a good football game…

Really a bit worried though, on social media some gris experts are saying the CATS D is slow, no speed, can be taken advantage of.

Now back to reality: CATS 44
Stangs 13

Just chatted with the equipment truck drivers. They are leaving now to go unload at the field. Great day to be a Caturday!!

I am hoping the Mustangs will give the Bobcats a better game than most here think. We are definitely an improved team this season, but MSU is at the top of the Big Sky and a top 5 team in the FCS and will be a huge challenge for the Mustangs. I will be there rooting on the Mustangs and hope any of the Bobcat fans that made the trip have a great experience, but come home disappointed in the outcome of the game. 😉

I hate late games...especially after a bye.

I am thinking back a few years, to the Kramer days. Cal Poly was not in the Big Sky but were a frequent non conference foe. They ran the wishbone offense and gave Kramer’s teams fits. So much so we stopped scheduling them.

Do you think scottre is thinking 5 carries for 7 yards is worth the money?

Maybe he’ll try and comeback next year

No runs in that first series. By the Cats.

I think we’ve done that a couple times. For sure we seem to start each game with a pass.

I do not like playing in Cal Poly. Always had my worst track meets in their neck of the woods

Our first O series we looked like we went to, don’t show much and play conservative mode.
