A backup on Nevada's roster doesn't seem like a huge get.Montanabob wrote: ↑Thu May 08, 2025 6:37 pmlooks like Choate brought in 2 RS Sr's and he was 3rd on the LCB depth.
We need veteran depth at the position. The Butcher wrote: ↑Fri May 09, 2025 11:37 amA backup on Nevada's roster doesn't seem like a huge get.Montanabob wrote: ↑Thu May 08, 2025 6:37 pmlooks like Choate brought in 2 RS Sr's and he was 3rd on the LCB depth.![]()
And likely expected to be starting until the 2 RS SRs came in. We are not getting a MWC starter to transfer. We will get power Conference 3rd team or next group backups that want a chance to start.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Fri May 09, 2025 11:41 amWe need veteran depth at the position.

Exactly. We just need him to play at a level similar to Jon Johnson. After that we have a hyper-competitive young group of corners about 5-7 deep when new freshman come this summer.mslacatfan wrote: ↑Fri May 09, 2025 3:34 pmI think it’s pretty much a replacement talent wise for the guys that left…. (Without knowing much about him)
Bryson Parker, Jon Johnson, Andrew Powdrell, Dru Polidore….. generally speaking these guys are starters in the big sky, but fighting for a starting spot in the mountain west (and probably coming off the bench).
I am glad we have some speed in the young guys. Dru Polidore’s closing speed was noticeable.mslacatfan wrote: ↑Fri May 09, 2025 3:34 pmI think it’s pretty much a replacement talent wise for the guys that left…. (Without knowing much about him)

And rightfully so. Who's up next on the depth chart?cat22[2010] wrote: ↑Tue Aug 12, 2025 8:35 pmThis was short lived...

Looking for the kind of money we don’t have.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 4:00 pmThis is absolutely me spitballing but it seems we have a spot and a scholarship that just opened.
Is it even possible to sign a new player two days before classes start for the Fall semester? This guy will be on his third team in three years, I'd rather they just redistribute Parker's scholarship money to players who are already on the roster and have worked hard to deserve it.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 4:00 pmThis is absolutely me spitballing but it seems we have a spot and a scholarship that just opened.
I remember back in the Kramer days we played an early game against colorado (and won), and then the next week one of their DB's transferred to the cats. Henderson, I think was his last name.MSU01 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 18, 2025 8:31 amIs it even possible to sign a new player two days before classes start for the Fall semester? I also remember Kramer signing a transfer from Louisville who I believe joined the team as they were traveling to a road game (maybe the opener at UAB in 2001). He didn't work out either. Kramer did some great things to begin the resurrection of MSU's program but he was asking for trouble with some of those transfers. Then again, there are also guys like Junior Adams and Joey Thomas who took full advantage of their opportunities and have gone on to do great things.wbtfg wrote: ↑Mon Aug 18, 2025 8:52 amI remember back in the Kramer days we played an early game against colorado (and won), and then the next week one of their DB's transferred to the cats. Side note: that dude was bad news....i'm surprised he wasn't arrested that year along with some of Kramer's other transfers.
