Tommy usage

What an absolute amazing job this staff has done keeping Tommy healthy this year.
Past seasons, many Cats complaining about Tommy running so much. Well, give the staff credit. We just whooped our rival and Tommy wasn’t asked to do much. 12 passes and 10 rushes.

Agreed, but credit needs to go to Tommy himself as well. He’s clearly making a conscious decision to run out of bounds given the opportunity vs taking the hit to get a couple extra yards. He’s also slid more this year than any other point of his career.
The staff has done a great job with play calling in general to not ask him to do the things he’s done in the past and he’s also done a great job protecting his own body.

With the exception of the last TD drive yesterday down by the EZ. The gris took the opportunity to try and take his head off for not going out of bounds.

Yeah, and the Cats punished Fife repeatedly with big hits as he was getting off a pass. It's football.

Ok? I wasn't saying they did anything dirty, just took their chance to lay as big hit as they could on him.

There were a couple times yesterday if he keeps, or if takes off when 1st pass read is not there he had big gains. With lead he is throwing safe pass or away those year.

Tommy, as well as the coaches. The staff has been coaching him to run out of bounds or go down, rather than fight for an extra yard or two. Tommy is doing a good job of listening to the coaches. It is obvious he is very competitive so this goes against his instincts.
