Has there been a watch list announced for this yet? Who are the other guys that could win it? Cam Miller? Mark Gronkowski? I'm worried Tommy's numbers don't look good enough because he barely plays in fourth quarters.

Cam Miller has the better numbers as of now. But Tommy is playing his best football, and with three big games left I’ll bet his resume gets better.

Miller's QB rating is slightly better at 186.34 compared to 184.62. If you look at rushing, Tommy averages 9.9 yds/ carry and 60.67 yds/game. Miller averages 3.6 yds/carry and 26.7 yds/game In my eyes, Tommy is more valuable.

I know which one I wouldn't want to game plan for as an opposing coach. Hint: He wears a blue and gold cape 8)

Crazy thought, but I believe Tommy has not taken snaps in the 4th quarter of four games this season. He has 3 other games where he took the first series of the fourth quarter. That makes only 2 games where he had to take the last snaps: EWU and NM.

I’m just glad I got to be a Cat Fan during the Tommy years.

Just a stunning career, and I can’t wait to see the finish.

Go Cats Go!

Think about how spoiled we've been over the past twenty or so years. Lulay, McGhee, Prukop, (Maybe throw Murray in there?), Andersen, Chambers, Mellott.....

Classic "great for the team, terrible for individual accolades" situation.

I've been critical of Tommy's passing in the past, but this year he looks like one of the top 10 passing QBs in FCS. The coaches have obviously made a decision to protect his health in the run game, but we also know-mostly from last year-that hes one of the best 2-3 running QBs in FCS.

But since the entire team is stacked, including an elite D, he doesn't show off nearly the numbers he needs to in order to win the award.

IMO. Even if hes quite possibly the best player in FCS.

+ Idaho State

Those games where he played the first series of the 4th were just wrapping up the last series of the 3rd as well so there's only been 3 games out of 9 where he played a series that started in the 4th quarter.

I would say he is THE best running QB in the FCS, hands down. Can't say for sure if he's the best pure QB or even the best player, but there's no way anyone else is better than him when he runs the ball. Excellent instincts, using blocks, shiftiness, can break tackles, tough as hell, and oh ya - not only a super quick burst but also breakaway, elite speed.

Durability is far and away his biggest weakness. Agree with the rest.

When the opposing teams goal is to remove TD Tommy from the game is that a knock on his Durability?
In war you go after the commanding officers, in the wild you go for the head of the snake.
I do not belie he has any weakness, but he does have a target on his back IMO.

Durability is definitely his only weakness at this point but that's just the nature of being a running QB. Not much he can do about it besides not running as much, which has worked out well so far. I don't think it has anything to do with what the defense is doing to him in particular, just part of the game.

Before this year his passing, while not a weakness, definitely wasn't a strength. He's taken a big jump this year.
