True, although Vigen comes out and says in the press conference that Polidore will play this week but may not be ready to take all the snaps. He calls Caden "doubtful" and says they're still working through the severity of the injury. I don't think they remove guys from the depth chart until they're definitively out.
No, but I did watch Hauck’s and everyone must go watch it. Omg! The guy doesn’t care about his school, his fans(?), his family. What a deplorable way to represent yourself and he apparently doesn’t care how his aura affects anyone. I don’t see how anyone could possibly want to be associated with him.
It's even more striking when Hauck has two players sitting next to him who are actually giving respectful and thoughtful answers to the questions. Complete douchebag but he knows his job is safe for as long as he wants it so why make the effort, I guess. Vigen's press conference today was 25 minutes on his own, Bobby plus the two players was only 6!iaafan wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 4:14 pmNo, but I did watch Hauck’s and everyone must go watch it. Omg! Had to go watch after seeing these comments. Wow, just wow. What a prick. I'd hate to be a reporter trying to interview him. Vigen is a gentleman and an exceptional representative of MSU.MSU01 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 4:21 pmIt's even more striking when Hauck has two players sitting next to him who are actually giving respectful and thoughtful answers to the questions. This. Ya, that was nothing. Very tame by Bobby standards. I thought it was for sure going to be another one where he slams reporters... after a simple question like, how do you think Ah Yat did? "You're seriously asking me to evaluate my QBs on TV? Seriously? You know better than that, next question." He pulls crap like that all the time.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 5:19 pmOutside of saying the wrong team won on Saturday, I don’t see the big deal out of his press conference. He’s blunt and doesn’t tolerate stupid questions. If I had to sit there and answer those things every week, I’d probably be a bit short too!
This!rfischer94 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 8:45 pmI think it's so gross the way he disrespects the media. They're just doing their job, and he's so rude to them. People don't deserve to be treated like that.
You would think he would understand his paycheck is where it is at due to media covering the team helping create interest and sales.coloradocat wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 9:42 pmJust watched Bobby and team's 6 minutes. Pretty tame for him. He just didn't want to be there so he gave short answers until the last one. Didn't seem disrespectful, just not respectful. He shows up for all these like it's in his contract (either required or comes with extra cash) and that's it.
Since all these sports reporters could write their articles without direct quotes it would be great if they just stopped showing up and wrote the story they were already going to write. It would also be great if at least one of them had the balls to go hard against Bobby (and the team). Maybe they'd get their game pass pulled but they could still watch the game on tv and write the same exact article.
At this point his cult of personality probably outpaces any articles they can write. It's a football school, the administration isn't going to be swayed by negative media based on his personal qualities. If anything, he understands the power he has after being able to get away with this for years.tetoncat wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 10:26 pmYou would think he would understand his paycheck is where it is at due to media covering the team helping create interest and sales.coloradocat wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 9:42 pmJust watched Bobby and team's 6 minutes. There’s a lot more to stupid questions than a lot of well-versed sports fans are aware of. Reporters often ask questions that they know the answer to but realize that the average fan doesn’t and is possibly wondering about. Fans/readers want to know what the coach has to say about it, not the media. At times a reporter will preface their question with something to that effect to make sure the coach understands why they are asking. (I have fans ask me questions that I can answer very easily for them. They seem like stupid questions, but the reality is that tons of other fans are wondering the same thing) Some coaches realize that’s what the reporter is doing because many coaches and reporters know each other well enough for the coach to know that. The stories are written for average fans to read. Most fans, including myself don’t know what a cover-2 is or a 13 formation is. I’ve been following sports for 50+ years and I still hear coaches say something that I had no idea about.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 5:19 pmOutside of saying the wrong team won on Saturday, I don’t see the big deal out of his press conference. I mean this in the kindest way possible, but I fail to see how somebody covering football could be ignorant to what Cover 2 or an 11, 12, 13, 10, formation is. It comes with the job to be well versed on what you’re covering. An AP report can give us what the coach says verbatim and stats. I want more than that from a reporter. It’s 2024, it’s never been easier to be well informed. It isn’t the coaches job to inform the general fan what’s what in a formation, the reporter can and should be able to talk schematic and parse it down to the general fan level.TomCat88 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2024 3:05 pmThere’s a lot more to stupid questions than a lot of well-versed sports fans are aware of.
