It’s TIME!!! (Done with enthusiasm and my Bruce Buffer Voice) 
Week Zero is here and the 2024 Fall football calendar is now unlocked and ready to be enjoyed with your Montana State Fighting Bobcats taking on the FBS University of New Mexico Lobos!
The storylines have been written over the past 6 months as the Bobcats have now graduated to a single QB system once again. Tommy Mellott is now the starter as all by himself. There’s no Sean Chambers to turn to as QB 1-ish so how does a single Qb system look on Tommy? How durable will he be, can he be, if he continues to run and punish tacklers seeking extra yards like we’ve always seen him do? What will it look like with a stable of great RB’s chomping at the bit to gain the yards that Tommy chooses to not take but hand off to them? How will Tommy QB1 handle the Offense with a need to pass the ball around the yard more? Will he look like the NDSU Tommy looked before injury? Efficient, unpredictable, accurate…unstoppable? And will he unlock a totally new gear in what has been a high octane Offense over the years? These questions begin to be answered…and it’s TIME!
Defensively, Bobby Daly now is the DC with Jody Owens on the staff to shore up a Defense that has flashed at times but which has proven exploitable at times. My biggest question mark for the team is our LB’s. Can they step up to the next level and be the leverage behind what is expected to be a good to great Defensive front? Seabass is gone… a year too soon in my view as he jumped to UWashington. How does that impact our ability to stop the run and pressure the QB? Brody Grebe will get his numbers, but he’s gonna need help from the LB’s to run fit and to also take away the flat passing game. Can the D rise up and play strong aggressive Bobcat football? These questions begin to get answered… it’s TIME!
What does Vigen and team look like with a new OC, DC, QB coaching staff all onboard replacing a Garza and Houseright team that created some drama and issues? Will he be dialed in like always, steady, seasoned, and maturing as our outstanding HC…stepping up his game to the next level? Because if these questions get answered the way I believe they not only can, but will, the next level is what we all want to see….the #4 Nationally ranked BOBCATS will hang another NC in the trophy case at the BAC!!!
Can we??? YES! Will we??? That remains to be seen, but that’s why we’re here…again…on the verge of another Fall Season hours away demonstrating that YES, it’s TIME to take it all…AGAIN!!!!
But, we can’t self anoint ourselves…the field and the team will show it! One way or the other…beginning today…because IT’S TIME BOBCATS…IT’S TIME!

On a personal note: I have decided to make this “Official-unofficial Gameday thread”…my last kickoff post. Living at distance, 10 hours ahead of most of the Nation, makes it harder for me to follow all the stories and games and the such. I’ve really enjoyed contributing over the years at least in this way, but alas “it’s TIME”… for someone else, or a series of someone’s
to tee it up each week. I’ll be here as I can, sitting up in some room in the middle of the night trying to stream in from some server…hoping to get a connection…and rooting on the Cats!!! Who knows, maybe you’ll see me at a tailgate again in the coming years…longer in tooth but still as rabid! Haha Go BOBCATS!
