40 years without a National Championship and people want to move up to the MWC….seriously people. How about we at least win one more, maybe two but like 5 would be incredible. Then we can move up.
Congrats to the 1984 team!!!

Okay, this calls for the most important and exciting plays (17:30-23:06 in the video) in MSU football history. Flame away, but it's true.

To be fair, I don't think any (or not many at least) of the proponents of moving up are saying so because MSU has been so dominant that there are no challenges left in the FCS. The only reason I'm receptive to the idea is because I am afraid of what the future of the FCS looks like and don't want to get left behind with schools like UNCU, Portland St, etc. I love the FCS and don't want MSU to jump up, but if people smarter than me think that's the way to not get relegated to a completely irrelevant level of football, I'm open to that debate. As things stand right now though, the FCS is awesome.

Well, if the future is a weak FCS and we still can’t win a National Championship, then moving up seems like an even worse move. We are more than just a football University, and all the other sports will only suffer from making a jump up. Nobody seems to consider that part, but that should be more important then scholarships and revenue.

MSU racking up 5 National Championships if NDSU and SDSU move up but we stay behind:

They are planning on stopping by the ‘Hinky Dink’ before the game then meeting-up at the ‘Sundance Saloon’ after.

How many teams that have moved up in the last twenty years ever won an FCS championship?

That was my favorite memory from bobcat stadium. Eric Miller had an amazing game that day. He was a good friend in those days that I lost track of after leaving. Jesse Jones told me at a cat griz watch party years later that Eric died in a plane crash a year or two prior. Eric was quirky but a really cool guy. It was a downer day for sure.
