I am for taller goal posts if it takes a tiny bit more of the judgement calls out of the game. If the balls path goes exactly over the top of the pole is it good or bad? If it had hit the pole would it bounce in or out?
The goal posts in grizville are definitely taller-as is the case for most D-1 stadiums.

Again, every one of us should be embarrassed by this. I don't buy the cost argument at all. The difference between the 20' and the 30' is in the noise on one of the capital projects. A rare miss from this program.
Man, this is really quite a take. I've read nearly every post on this board for a dozen years or more. I've seen lots of complaints, and I've seen lots of gris fans come over here to talk smack about the team or the stadium or not having a river nearby. But I'm not sure I've ever seen someone talk smack about the height of our goalposts. And then to convince us we need to be embarrassed is really something. And there was one kick in 2018 that is the source of this embarrassment, allegedly. Or maybe it's just comparison. And comparison is a great thief of joy, my friend.
I think the UM gameday experience is more like an NFL game because of their tall goalposts. Their fans must be embarrassed. 😂

Okay, I looked up the plans and they are supposed to put a piece of metal to cover that gap, but until then........

I can guarantee that the goalposts I use are bigger, better and longer than any you have even dreamt of using . Okay with that settled can we change the subject to cannon bore?
I'll take, what time are the players waking up to start working out, for $1,000 Alex.

Does anyone know if the back of the speaker box will be covered with something? The reason I ask is it seems like during day games it will be really "see through". Yes I know, really nit picky but its something that has jumped out to me.

Also, could someone take a photo from above the student section/below the small scoreboard to get that view of the videoboard? I really have no reason other than I just want to see it. :)

A lot of work yet to be done, the ends and back still need to be enclosed.

I know, I mentioned that in a previous post.

Is anyone else getting beeping signal on their computer when they get a response to their BN posts? My MAC just started doing that today. I did get an update last night, so maybe that's a new Apple thing. I don't like it. Took me a minute to figure out what the beeping was for.

I'm no engineer but I looked at the drawings and it appears to me that there will be aluminum plate across the back on the scoreboard, including the speaker box.

Yep, you read the plans correctly. Aluminum panels will cover the back of the board.

Need to esthetically match the goal posts I suppose.

Not the best pictures as I can't be real close to the back and still see it, but here's the progress on the backside. Still a ways to go.

I've been in the stadium and all around with this thing up. I think we're going to be impressed, obviously, by the board inside the stadium. But I think we'll be surprised how much it changes the whole look of the stadium from the outside. It's a giant, imposing sign, basically.
