Good question, when you search for news stories about him leaving every single one is from a Montana media outlet. Nothing from the Akron end, seems odd unless that team gets zero media coverage with all the bigger schools in the region. Their previous OC did leave for UCLA and they don't have another OC listed on the website, so maybe we've found the one school slower at updating its website than MSU is!

Also interesting that Housewright no longer has a Twitter/X account. I know a lot of people have gotten rid of their accounts, but I doubt many active college coaches have. He has a private Instagram that still says he's an assistant football coach at MSU.MSU01 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 5:06 pmGood question, when you search for news stories about him leaving every single one is from a Montana media outlet. The DUI hanging over his head made the hire strange in the first place. Looking at search results, he either jumped the gun announcing this before it was official and Akron backed off for some reason, or it was completely fabricated and he never had an offer from the Zips.

Re: Housewright to Akron
Makes me wonder if the Akron administration even knew about the pending DUI if any of this news about him moving to Akron is at all accurate.PapaG wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 2:58 pmWould it be completely out of the question that he was told to move on and his mentor hired him as a safe landing spot with the DUI charges still over Housewroght’s head? He won’t have nearly the play-calling responsibilities at Akron as Moorhead will continue to heavily influence, if not actually call, the plays. Seems like a good spot to lay low for a few years and rebuild his reputation both off the field and also work on how he treats players without fans and boosters watching his every move as it would be in Bozeman.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 12:42 pmReunited with Joe Moorhead. Wonder if Tyler Roehl would be interested…probably not.
Seems like a nice, clean break from each other for both parties.

Just an FYI: you don't have to click on every topic, and you certainly don't have to hit the reply button.

Footballscoop is very reputable. Can’t remember the last time they’ve been wrong about something.PapaG wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 5:58 pmThe DUI hanging over his head made the hire strange in the first place. I think MTbob should be able to voice his opinion but it is a bit funny that the guy says move on when he himself doesn't seem able to move on and asks who cares when he shows that he cares it's all good. By the way MTbob you have been around here long enough to know that moving on is not something BN does very well. I mean BN is still debating the quality and legacy of every previous head coach going back at least 20 years.BigBruceBaker wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2024 10:53 pm….im not sure that’s accurate.
This Housewright thing is a little perplexing though.

There's no chance that Akron is slower or less accurate than MSU at updating their website and it isn't even close.MSU01 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 5:06 pmGood question, when you search for news stories about him leaving every single one is from a Montana media outlet. And they were beaten soundly by the Bobcats in 1976.gtapp wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 6:08 pmThese kind of numbers will correlate to things like pay, facility spending, quality of facilities.tetoncat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 11:35 pmOdd, I would think a promotion is defined by pay and responsibility. So if you moved from a company with $10 million in sales to one with $5 million in sales but more profitable, paid you more and better title, you wouldn't take that because it isn't a promotion

Now all I'm hoping for is 9 pages for a useless thread. If we try we can get to ten, who doesn't like a perfect ten.

I feel it's important to not mention anything about the original topic. Otherwise we are just living in the past.

Re: Housewright to Akron
Hey! Me too. Lets get some talking points going.
1. How good or bad was House in big games?
2. Was his offenses THAT good?
3. Did Tommy make him look good or did he make Tommy look good?
4. Do you guys REALLY think the oline is that good or were House's gameplans soooo effective that it made them look good?
5. But, what is MSU's policy on DUI's?
6. Was it really a DUI? I thought drinking and driving was just the culture in Bozeman and was accepted.
7. Any others???
Have fun gentleman.
