Duke's Two Point Conversion Trick Play

Just happened to catch the strange trick play that Duke executed for a two point conversion in their bowl game. I know it's just a meaningless exhibition game but dang I sure would like to see our coaches use some imagination with such plays occasionally. I especially think back to our past season when we had such problems with our kicking game. How great would it have been for our coaches to recognize that we might need to work on some very imaginative two point conversions given our kicking problems. And then USE THEM! If they had failed I really think our fan base would have supported the coach's decision to give it a try.

Honestly, I thought our trick plays were some of our worst plays of the year. They are fun when they work, but maddening when they backfire when your team is running for 7 yards a carry.

Isn't that the nature of trick plays?

Sort of….some offenses need gimmicks, some don’t.

After MSU had botched numerous trick plays last season, someone asked Vigen if the Cats actually practiced the plays beforehand. Vigens reaction was what you would expect, "Yes, they had practiced the plays." That was a pretty cringeworthy question to ask, but I laughed out loud since it was kind of on point at the time.

Choate gave a “tip of the cap” on X to the gris for running our “Houdini” play

I think it’s actually a Boise State play that choate brought to Bozeman with him.
