Indoor practice facility donations

Post by bobcatfan123 » Sun Dec 10, 2023 4:45 pm

Since we are not going to Texas or a semi final roadtrip a few of us would like to make a small donation to the indoor practice facility. Any idea the easiest way to do so?

I wish they’d do the text donation like they did for the endzone expansion. I texted that number so many times from my gris friends phones. Big thank you to Gris nation for your donations!

The fact that anyone needs to ask this question is a big problem with MSU fundraising efforts. I once asked this question as well. They should be reaching out to everyone via phone, email, text and social media. There should be a dedicated social media site for raising funds! Hell, they can’t even get rosters and bio updated correctly on team page so I’m probably asking all lot here.

They have dropped the ball big time.

I mean, a text message with a QR code to a direct Venmo link to donate doesn’t sound like crazy hard.

Exactly, I get auto generated similar texts from my nieces & nephews schools and sports teams asking for donations…Clearly a major University can figure it out!

Yeah, this is probably an easy thing for them to do, especially once they start asking us unwashed masses for funds.

I do wonder about some of their social media stuff though. Obviously, I don't know the ins and outs of every thing they do, but MSU does have a Youtube channel, which they can easily monetize with the amount of subscribers they have. They should post every video they put out on YouTube and then link it from there to their other social media platforms. That way, they will get more views on the monetized channel instead of posting the same video individually on separate channels.

The easiest way to make a donation to the practice facility is probably to call 994-2053 and give them your credit card number etc. just like buying something online.

Karen actually stopped by my office last week, seemed like a great lady! She mentioned we are VERY close to hitting our goal on this. She also mentioned that she got some good news on building costs and that we might be looking at a steel structure and significant cost savings vs the other material being considered. (I THOUGHT we were considering a tension fabric structure if I remember correctly).

That’s what I’d like to see. Obviously, I’m no engineer and I know they claim those tension fabric structures have a long lifespan, but I’ll take a completely steel structure every time.

in Montana wind and weather, no question. sort of like the two biggest reasons solar panels fail, high wind and hail.

Significant cost savings? Does that mean I get a refund on part of my donation? :D

They’re not all to blame. Some of us like myself don’t pay close enough attention to what’s out there. I do not do FB at all I’m on IG about 4 times a year. I am a member of the alumni and QB club foundations so I get emails. But if I was not a member of those two foundations I’d be lost.
And I know at my age bracket I’m not alone in this.
