Here's to hoping Al Johnson knows a few Wisconsin hogs that aren't getting the playing time they would like. He had to have been instrumental in bringing Davis in.

Those types of connections will be key.

Dang, I had high hopes for Jace Fitzgerald.
The OL departures just piss me off. But whatever.

I thought Jace had a bright future. But honestly is he going to get anything with what he did this year. I think.he is an FCS transfer at best. The oline guys I think will definately find a home, but not sure about Jace. I could be wrong.

My idle speculation about connections...maybe Jace is going to Nevada? Or home to UM Western? That is where his sister Brynley Fitzgerald went when she left the Lady Bobcats. And she excelled there for three years.

Would give anything to see Dylan Rollins decide that he wants to be closer to home and jumps to MSU. He would be a huge addition to rebuilding our o-line.

I just dont think we are rebuilding our o line. I dont even know if reloading is the right word. We have dudes who will step in and play really well.

It's worth remembering that this board also thought it was the end of the world when TJ Session and Connor Wood transferred out. And then the offensive line just continued to get better without them. Great opportunity for the guys who just moved a spot up the depth chart yesterday.

Based on name only, I really want to see Bear Old in the mix!

Cedric Jefferson is a true freshman tackle who is really, really, good. He played a little, but still kept his redshirt. Was the backup LT for majority of the season.

Good point. Fortunately we do still have depth, and the double repping in practice should help those backup guys be able to step in capably.

Also worth remembering that 4/5ths of the OL (Kidd, Tuiasosopo, Redd, and Session) were all gone after 2021 season. Then in 2022 MSU set multiple offensive records.

We also had lots of opportunities for backups to get live reps in all those blowout wins.

Why is there conversation about Rollins? Is this purely hope or speculation?

He doesn't get off his mission until July. So, I guess it's hope.

Thanks for pointing this out. I think people forget we also lost two all-time greats that year. Hope Lewis gets it going again in the league.
My concern this time is last time I looked at weights, i thought there was a massive drop off after the first 7. Hopefully them boys is hungry and ready to step up this offseason.

Also, there was a point in 2023 that the backups had played the equivalent of one game (60 minutes over 5-6 games). During that time the run game averaged more per carry than it did with starters. Lots of other variables at play obviously but still pretty impressive.

Well I guess Fitzgerald wanted more play time. Not sure if he would have got it next year?
