Re: Injuries?
Chambers = Chad Newell, Elliot = Gunner Brekke.... carry on just like 2016. Only problem...is Chambers that tough? Probably not, but we have Tommy too! ....and might have Coon coming back....we won't be elite, but we'll be ok if no one else gets hurt.

Re: Injuries?
I was thinking the same thing. Clearly not ideal and I’d rather he be healthy. But the fact that he could redshirt and still have 4 more years is a good silver lining. He could be a good one.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 2:37 pmYeah I guess the silver lining with White is that we now get to redshirt him.

Re: Injuries?
I mentioned this in another thread but what about the younger O'Reilly? Wasn't he quite the rb b4 he got hurt?

Re: Injuries?
Yep, RB situation definitely sucks, but if we can just avoid any additional season ending injuries to that group, knock on wood, we should be fine. Was very encouraging to hear Coon is back this week, and also it sounds like Sumner is getting close. We'll see what the scoop is on White but even if he is out for the season, we can still potentially have Ifanse, Sumner, Elliot, Coon, Martin? ready to roll at the end of the season and heading into playoffs. Also, in the presser today Vigen talked about how we have the personel and staff to still rush the ball with other skill players and some creative play calling.
Great time to be a BOBCAT!

Re: Injuries?
MSU’s depth is amazing. I remember times (lots of times) when any starter went down it erased any chance of making the playoffs.
What makes it even more amazing is that there’s this much depth with so many sophomores (10) starting. Plus kicker, punter and LS are sophomores. The PR is a frosh.

MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Re: Injuries?
Really good observation Tom. Have you looked at how many running backs NDSU has to play every year? There were a couple of years they had to convert kids. Depth. What do you think of the OL rotation thus far this year?TomCat88 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 8:11 pmMSU’s depth is amazing. Everybody stick to your day and job and let the coaches do their job!
There’s 100 different players on the roster that carry the football!
Keep the offense “vanilla” this week, stay healthy, take the dollars and get ready for the Eagles!

Did you really say we should let the coaches do their jobs???? Blasphemy! There won't be any self appointed lists of the top Montana players, the Sunday Morning Armchair Quarterbacks won't be offering unsolicited evaluations (even though they're probably a Montana AA assistant coach or a sports reporter) and you just want to take all the fun out of a sports chat room!

Re: Injuries?
so when school started they had a walk-on Saturday, also coaches called several kids if they would like to play on the scout team. One of those kids was Bradon Morris who was in the running back room. Bradon played QB and safety and won several individual state track events at Jefferson High. Most of these kids were told to turn in their equipment last week prior to the Moorehead game. Bradon was not asked to leave and was placed in the running back room. Bradon is really smart and a very good player. Also he was coached in football and track by former player Jered Padmos.

Re: Injuries?
There it is. Shut the website down guys. We can't talk about football here. One of us might challenge a coach for their job!
Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Re: Injuries?
RB injuries is eerily similar to Griz last year when they had to use the #3, 4, and 5 RBs (mostly 4 & 5) for practically the whole season. But they survived, so the Bobcats will definitely survive.

If Sumner doesn’t heal soon we’re gonna have a hard time winning football games against upper tier squads. It’s gonna be back to Tommy rushing the ball 25 times a game.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 10, 2022 5:28 pmRB Update:
Ifanse - out until at least end of October
Williams - likely done for career
Sumner - Vigen said he hurt his elbow in practice on a non-contact drill
White - walking boot post-game of Morehead State; went down on first carry
Elliot - primary back all game but only got a few carries where he looked great
Coon - has to be hurt because he didn't play at all in this game
Presumably next man up is Tayvion Williams who fotsome carries in the 4th.
Time to convert Nolan Askelson to RB (he concussed a poor sole on that INT) or we just run the Wam/Bam package of Chambers/Fitzgerald. Anyway, Elijah Elliot just became #1 for at least the next few weeks until Lane heals. My goodness what a mess.
