VERY close voting. Gris received 111 votes in coaches poll and 3 first place votes, Sac St had 110 and 4 first place votes, Cats got 109 votes and 5 first place votes. Plenty of coaches respect MSU's outlook, but presumably one or maybe two don't feel quite as bullish on MSU's chances.

Okada seems like an omission, but in Jeff Choate style he probably kind of likes being overlooked.

Is there any release of the filled ballots and who voted what?
I am curious if the Hauck voted MSU low, because he hates MSU and Bozeman.

I think that would be too funny if he did.

That's what I was thinking too, but we'll never know. To my knowledge those ballots aren't released and I think that's probably a good thing. You'll see some media members share their ballots occasionally but I've never seen a coaches ballot in any sport at any level. But with more first place votes than anybody, you'd have to think that either 3-4 coaches think MSU will be around 4th or 5th (which seems odd when 5 coaches think they're the best team in the conference), or one coach thinks they'll be around 10th.

I can imagine a world where Vigen voted the Cats around 6th or worse just to make sure we aren't preseason favorites. I'm pretty sure Choate used to do that too.

I don't know how it works in the BSC, but in many cases, coaches don't vote for their own team.

Most likely true in this case.

If anyone was going to vote MSU low I’d guess it’s McCaffrey after clipboard-gate.

MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Definitely true in this case, I added up the points and it matches up with each coach voting for 1 through 11, with #1 getting 11 points, #2 getting 10 points, down to #11 getting 1 point.

Usually, the twitter links populate into a visual element but it's not doing that now...not sure why. I'll try to delete those links

One more question. Doesn't the BSC usually release the media guide during the kickoff?

Vigen, followed by Okada & Tommy all sat down and we’re interviewed by the host of the event. Each team had their Coach and then a couple players.
