Re: Goodbye ROOT, Hello... Scripps
I'm reading more and more about it, seems to me basically things will go back to the way they were before ROOT, there will be no regional sports network to contend with (ROOT, Altitude before that) and the Brawl will be back on local TV. Except now everything should be on ESPN+ in addition with no blackouts.

It means that instead of complaining about the Root Sports announcers and broadcast, we can go back to complaining about the local TV announcers and broadcast.

I see the phrase “no blackouts” and I will always respond with a thumbs up.CelticCat wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 2:29 pmI'm reading more and more about it, seems to me basically things will go back to the way they were before ROOT, there will be no regional sports network to contend with (ROOT, Altitude before that) and the Brawl will be back on local TV. So all games including the Brawl should be on ESPN+?

I guess I better learn how to sync up the radio to the TV. Looks like we're going back to the good 'ol days of 2 griz homer announcers and one token Bobcat who hasn't actually seen the team play in 10 years.

I don’t mind as long as the Cats win. It is fun to listen to the whining and excuses.

UM and MSU each will have one home and one away conference football game that will air in prime time. The Big Sky Conference will schedule the rest of the UM and MSU football games to air in the afternoon.

This means I can drop my TDS cable TV subscription (I have YouTube TV also) because I won’t need cable which was the only way to get ATTSportsNet which carried ROOT so I could watch ‘Cat/gris football? Now that’s a true fan that keeps cable going just to watch one game!

Re: Goodbye ROOT, Hello... Scripps
So the two teams play a total of 16 conference games each season, not 14. Does this mean MTN gets first crack at games and SWX gets the leftovers?
Also, who carried the griz games in the past. Wasn't that MTN? I seem to remember their games being on CBS in Billings. To me that would mean they'll probably use 8 of their games for the griz and whatever is left (not necessarily 6 based on scheduling) for Cats games.

Since there is ‘Cat/gris, the two teams participate in just 15 conference games in total.coloradocat wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 4:15 pmSo the two teams play a total of 16 conference games each season, not 14. Does this mean MTN gets first crack at games and SWX gets the leftovers?

Yes it sounds like SWX can basically bid on the OOC games maybe. SWX is more or less done I think.coloradocat wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 4:15 pmSo the two teams play a total of 16 conference games each season, not 14. Does this mean MTN gets first crack at games and SWX gets the leftovers?
