Thus, the provisions in the USMCA’s agriculture annex establish confusing and costly TRQs on Canadian exports of infant formula, and the United States imported no baby formula from Canada in 2021.

I’m confused? We hate socialism or we want one person to be in charge of baby formula and gas prices? Also I agree with with those wanting laws to make the hotels lower prices for us Cat fans so I can spend the night in Bozeman on game weekends. Im sure just an easy tracking system that goes into a data base that shows you are a Cat fan would be easy enough create. That same list could cover us for the cost of coming in for basketball games too.

Amazing that national issues facing our country can serve as comic fodder for you. Instead of discussing the issue, you make some juvenile attempt to “trigger” people. Let us know when you are ready for the big boy room and can discuss items with some intelligence.

Re: Bozeman and the football program
Wasn’t this thread about the high prices facing Bobcat coaches and Bobcat fans? Don’t you think the politics driving this country led us to this point? High inflation. Lack of workers. Exodus from urban areas to Montana. Now we are seeing shortages in critical goods. All of these were impacted by political policies. And the current national policies and leadership are not effective.
Unless things change immediately, MSU football will have new issues to face next year. That $150,000 expense to travel and play Cal Poly will now be $300,000. $6.00 gas and higher lodging will mean fewer fans. The high cost of materials and land and no available labor means no new construction. These are all driven by public policies like fed interest rates, energy exploration, etc.
Our new scoreboard was actually pushed back a year due to supply chain issues. I hate to tell you this, but politics have a direct influence on the issues in this thread.

Re: Bozeman and the football program
I'll chime in here.
I moved to Bozeman in the fall of 2010 right near the end of Montana State's first of three straight Big Sky Conference title runs. I was working at the Bozeman Chronicle at the time. I rented an apartment for $999 a month and I thought it was SO expensive.
Two years later, I "upgraded" into one side of a three-bedroom townhouse. I was paying $1,200 and thought I was living high. My brother came to live with me, we started Bobcat Beat, then we started Skyline Sports. His girlfriend became his wife, they had a baby, we call kept living there. The private owner never raised the rent more than $25 a year.
By the time last fall rolled around, the rent had gone up to only $1,400, which we continued to think was a steal. Given the housing climate in Bozeman right now, we wanted to keep the place forever because even splitting it to spent 10-12 days a month in Bozeman was cheaper than getting ANY hotel or vacation rental.
Finally, the owner of the townhouse couldn't hold out anymore. The cash offers they were receiving were absurd. So we ended up having to give the place up after an awesome 10-year run. The townhouse, with no renovation or new carpets or anything, went for $519,000 to a cash buyer less than two weeks after we moved out.
Now we are trying to figure out how to budget the 20-30 weekends per year we are absolutely needing to be in Bozeman to continue our bread & butter at Skyline Sports: covering Bobcat athletics. This fall, I am budgeting thousands of dollars for every single home football game weekend to have a writer or two, a photographer or two be in Bozeman Friday night and Saturday for each Bobcat football game.
It's absolutely absurd and makes me sick as a native Montanan. You can talk about whatever politics you want, it's simply not right that hard-working Montana people are getting priced out of multiple of the Treasure State's best places.

Yes, Kalispell and Whitefish are already like Bozeman. Missoula will be next. It has already started in Missoula. Your situation with your business is a great example. Also, Cataholic also laid it out very well. MSU athletics is looking at huge increases in travel expenses for the teams. Also, recruiting expenses are skyrocketing. I am sure donations are not going up not any where near as fast as prices. I don't know how families are going to afford to send their kids to MSU Summer camps. I have talked to a number of fans that travel to home games and have decided to stay home this year and watch the games on TV. The cost of an indoor practice facility is probably out of sight. This whole situation is not a pretty picture.Colter_Nuanez wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 5:27 pmI'll chime in here.

Sure, and when the discussion actually still related to Bobcat football I was enjoying it. Rants about Biden, Trump, baby formula shortages, and socialism have nothing to do with Bobcat football and people should respect the rules of the forum and restrain themselves from going there if they have nothing to add directly relating to the original thread topic.Cataholic wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 5:17 pmWasn’t this thread about the high prices facing Bobcat coaches and Bobcat fans? Re: Bozeman and the football program
Apologies. I was working.
I run a business I don’t sit on the board all day.
Yup, it was hilarious.
When I commented, it was just to agree with the intellectual deficit and point out the last one wasn’t any better.
And to push that button.
I apologize.
The correct comment did not get uploaded.
But with all the hogwash going around, I figured why not, so I left it.
It was no rant, all I did was mention the name.
I could have been talking about Barron for all you know.
It don’t matter.
Three free tix for the movie.
DM me.
I’m still working.
Later.
I again apologize

Thanks for the offer on the tickets, but not necessary. And my apologies if I came across strong. I don’t understand why many people automatically say “what about Trump” when Biden’s state of mind is questioned. The two are are completely unrelated. Even if Trump was certified as bat-sh1t crazy, it has absolutely no effect on Biden’s mental acuity.DMMDCats wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 6:20 pmApologies. I was working.

Re: Bozeman and the football program
It is related to Bobcat football. For example, Biden’s energy agenda has had a direct impact on the fuel Bobcat fans and team airplanes consume. Why do you think Californians are flocking to Montana and driving up the prices of real estate in Bozeman? Don’t you think the political climate in California has something to do with it? How about the cost of materials and construction for the Bobcat Indoor practice facility? I can safely assume that it is at least a million higher. Don’t you think that Biden’s economic policies might have had something to do with the increased cost?MSU01 wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 6:11 pmSure, and when the discussion actually still related to Bobcat football I was enjoying it. Fact - Biden is also the governor and legislative body of California.
Fact - Putting punitive tariffs on products that are use for building materials makes building material prices cheaper.

Like it or not, Biden is the current face of Progressive Democrats (e.g. socialists), whose blatant anti-coal, anti-fossil fuel, and climate-alarmist policies have forced the US into an energy crisis that should not exist. At least not while we sit on coal reserves that could easily - and responsibility - power this nation for the next 200 years.onceacat wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 9:07 pmWith all due respect,no. Older Montanans are used to the boom and bust cycle. Glasgow, Butte and Great Falls in my lifetime. The area in this article is going to bust if the filthy rich tire of flying into Belgrade International Airport and decide to expand the Ennis Airport as they did in Jackson, Wyoming.
