Stat of the day: Football, Men's Bball, and Women's bball teams were a combined 35-3 at home this year.
I took this a step further and ranked all the teams (except Cal Poly and Davis, who don't play BB in the BSC) based on their composite home records:
MSU 34-3 (92%)
um 32-7 (82%)
SUU 21-11 (66%)
UNCU 19-12 (61%)
ISU 18-13 (58%)
EWU 19-14 (58%)
Idaho 19-14 (58%)
Weber 18-17 (51%)
Sac St 15-17 (47%)
NAU 16-19 (46%)
PSU 14-20 (41%)
Now turn it around to do it for the road team. Road teams are where the winners are
That's a good point. MSU is the only school above .500 on the road this year (the MSU women were 6-9 on the road)
MSU 19-17 (53%)
Sac St 16-17 (48%)
Weber 15-18 (45%)
EWU 17-21 (45%)
SUU 15-20 (43%)
um 13-19 (41%)
NAU 13-21 (38%)
UNCU 14-24 (37%)
ISU 9-27 (25%)
PSU 7-25 (22%)
Idaho 6-24 (20%)
Sac State was actually slightly better on the road this year. Not much of a home field/court advantage there.
There's a pretty big disparity in the number of road games played, mostly due to out of conference basketball. Eastern and UNCU had 38 road games while Idaho only had 30.

Thank you for pointing that out. What difference does it make? I know I've done it before, but it's trivial. Live in the now. Trivia belongs in the bottom of a game story or preview in the notes. It's not like when the Cubs or Red Sox finally won a World Series. Some teams have never been to The Big Dance. That's newsworthy when they finally make it. Just say for the Xth time School X is going to the playoffs/tournament/title game, etc. and note the previous years.
Example: For the fourth time the Bobcats are going to the national championship game. MSU also played in the title game in 1956, 1976, and 1984.
MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

I haven't been to egris, but I suspect there are posts on how easy our side of the bracket was for both our teams. Man life must suck as a gris right now.
Anyway. As Leon said on the Courtside show, us fans are always there for these programs through thick and thin, but now we get to experience the good times. What a roll. Wow.

No doubt, I was thinking about that last night. It's crazy just how much MSU is dominating UM right now in almost every aspect imaginable. Obviously anything and everything related to academics, enrollment, etc... but just look at all sports? Yes, the football team caught lightning in a bottle and were the better team on one day in November, but I don't think anyone would argue against MSU being the better football program right now. MBB, WBB, VB, all dominating. Not to mention Track, Skiing, Rodeo, Hockey, Softball, Golf, etc. I admit I didn't fact check all those sports but I'm just assuming we're kicking their asses in all of them also.
Great time to be a BOBCAT!

Ha! Well we don't have softball but IF we did you KNOW we'd be spanking them in that too!

No, don't go there. You would need a strong antivirus/malware program. As well as a cornea transplant.
egris said all of that and more...

National Women’s Basketball and Team Three-Point Shooting Champion. It came at the end of basketball so is still in the one year cycle. Those were official NCAA championships. One or two more trophies for the T-shirt.

I was thinking about this amazing run for bobcat athletics. I wonder if it just happened to be a perfect storm and it will be a generation before we see a year like this again, or is the dept so strong that this will become a regular occurrence?
If the second part is true, what is/was the turning point? Leon sure has his fingerprint on a lot of this success.
