#4 behind NDSU, SDSU, and UM. Fair ranking in my book. Craig listed Callahan, Ty, and Jeffrey as the key returners on defense but made a special note to list Brody Grebe and Simeon Woodard as rising stars. I appreciate that about Craig...he pays attention to roster development year to year.
I think the rankings look reasonable. NDSU will most likely be at home until Frisco, although I suppose there's a slight chance they could slip up in a game or two, and the SDSU game will not be a walk in the park for them. Also, how bad are they going to destroy Arizona? My guess would be... it will be an ass kicking.
The top 7 teams are all from either the BSC and MVFC. I'm not saying that because I think it's cool or because I think those two conferences have accomplished something. The FCS has become incredibly watered down. I hope teams from other conferences prove me wrong. Maybe Kennesaw St., Villanova, and others will make a push.
Aside from that I think this will be the year that MSU shows how deep it has been. If the Bobcats win the conference even the big time writers and prognosticators will have to take notice since they're all pointing out the losses to graduation/NFL MSU has from the past season.
MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

109. North Dakota State
Well, I guess we can just write off the Bison since you only get better if you play better teams, steel sharpens steel, nothing ventured/nothing gained, etc.

And Sac State having a fairly easy schedule.
Sac has to play EWU, UM and Weber, and a OOC road game at UNI. Not sure I'd call that an easy schedule.

Yeah, I’m just going by the 88th rank listed in the article. Tougher than last seasons.

Because it's based solely off win percentage neither Weber or UNI help their SOS.

Damn, I thought for sure a hauck would be on the list, or at least get credit for some tackles.

Setting a school record for half tackles doesn't get you as far as it used to. Inflation is hitting everyone hard.

Is that Devin Slaughter on the far right in the group photo? If it is Slaughter, it will be interesting to see what he brings to the game. I know body building and weight lifting skills don’t necessarily equal great football skills but it would be fantastic if he turned out to be beast on the dline.

I was wondering if he would be on the roster when practice starts. This is a good sign he will be.

And didn’t he go to Ranger or Seal training. Those intangibles have to be a big plus.

He was in the Army. Good team building skills, leadership training, and mental toughness for sure. We will have to see how his football skills have developed over the summer. Ranger tab and CIB, very impressive.

First time I’ve seen the team room with the divider down. I didn’t know the divider doubled as a white board. Kind of cool.
