70 last year (possibly more to come) and 51, so far, this year. I’m sure the Cats will be in the 70-80 range again when it’s all said and done. What I find interesting is all the offers to Texas. That has to be a record for out of state offers.

Maybe, but that could just be more and more players are using Twitter, etc. to get the word out. As everyone probably knows: you get yourself recruited, you don't get recruited in most cases.

MSU seems to be chasing more top-notch players this year vs. last year.

I wondered if that would be the case. Most of the newer coaches are coming from FBS level and are used to recruiting higher level players. I trust they’ve been in the game long enough to know they’re not wasting their time trying to get kids that are definite FBS bound, but I worry we’ll be left with scraps.

Time will tell. But that was absolutely the beginning of Ash's downfall. However, the program is much much different now than it was then.

Keep in mind a good portion of offers don't see the light of day as well (so there are swath of them we don't even know about hence the "known" in your title thread). Timing restrictions are also replaced on a good amount of offers meaning that they are pulled if the recruit doesn't commit within a given timeframe (depends on the talent being recruited of course). I don't know...it appears we are on par with the same amount of offers within this timeframe as the Choate years based on what I can tell.

Still only know of 3 scholarship offers to Montana kids (Reed Harris, Jacob Anderson, and Adam Jones). Watch for those partials to pick up on in-state products once camp season is over with.
