These are all Choate guys too, but I’m surprised to see so many leaving after a run to the NC. It’ll be interesting to see what we bring in from the transfer portal. College football is in a weird place right now.

LT: Reimer, he doesn’t change.91catAlum wrote: ↑Tue Apr 26, 2022 6:18 pmWho will be the likely starting offensive tackles now that Sessions is leaving?VimSince03 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 26, 2022 3:27 pmThat much of a surplus. If you just do the math on incoming freshman/transfers with the spring roster, you can see we are over in several positions. Keep in mind, coaches can make things "work" using greyshirts with incoming freshman as they've done the past two years but eventually attrition will happen if a position gets too deep with similarly aged groups. For example, a large contingent of the offensive line room are sophomores or freshman. Eventually that group has to even out class wise to make room for incoming recruits.RickRund wrote: ↑Tue Apr 26, 2022 3:22 pmSo would twelve leave the CATS short or is there that large of a glut. Am sure the coaches would still be looking regardless. Always trying to get bigger, faster, stronger...
Thanks
RT: I’d guess Reed or Kettels.

For most of the out of state guys, playing at the FCS level in a cold, largely homogenous region probably isn’t their dream place to be. If you can go somewhere “bigger”, why not?

Kettels...possibly Cole Sain. I don't think Titan is ready. Maybe a transfer.91catAlum wrote: ↑Tue Apr 26, 2022 6:18 pmWho will be the likely starting offensive tackles now that Sessions is leaving?VimSince03 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 26, 2022 3:27 pmThat much of a surplus. Re: 2022 transfer portal tracker
I would agree in most FCS cases but I guess it depends on what you mean by bigger. MSU is close to as good as it gets at the FCS level in terms of competition, atmosphere, etc., and rivals if not beats some G5 schools. I get wanting to go play closer to home, but if you’re failing the position battle here, what makes you think you’re gonna fail upwards?BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Tue Apr 26, 2022 6:47 pmFor most of the out of state guys, playing at the FCS level in a cold, largely homogenous region probably isn’t their dream place to be. Re: 2022 transfer portal tracker
Dumb question coming... but still curious...
If a player enters the transfer portal and doesn't get offered by another team, can they go back to their original team? Likely wouldn't for several reasons but I guess it's kinda like quitting, right? If they don't get another offer then maybe football is over for them? Seems a little risky.

They can return if they are wanted back. That's generally a big "if". I wonder how often that happens.nanacat wrote: ↑Wed Apr 27, 2022 12:41 pmDumb question coming... but still curious...

I would think it could be tough to go back.coloradocat wrote: ↑Wed Apr 27, 2022 12:46 pmThey can return if they are wanted back. That's generally a big "if". I wonder how often that happens.nanacat wrote: ↑Wed Apr 27, 2022 12:41 pmDumb question coming... but still curious...

Re: 2022 transfer portal tracker
It’s my understanding the school can take them back if they choose to. Some may have even a policy stating they absolutely will not take a player back. Perhaps that would act as a deterrent if there were no safety net in place. It’s kind-a-like stepping out on your wife. Odds are she won’t take you back if you were out looking for something better.

Re: 2022 transfer portal tracker
Footballscoop.com put FCS at 6% and FBS at 5% withdrew from the portal. Maybe not all of those that withdrew were welcomed back though...allcat wrote: ↑Wed Apr 27, 2022 1:15 pmI would think it could be tough to go back.coloradocat wrote: ↑Wed Apr 27, 2022 12:46 pmThey can return if they are wanted back. One last FU from beyond the grave for the Griz Slayer.
Sulser probably just netted $50k without even stepping on campus yet.

Re: 2022 transfer portal tracker
I was told Gabe was going to transfer to Rocky to play with Nate Dick because that level of play fit his skill set better...
Also do you guys know Junior Bergen beat Troy Andersen on a busted coverage the second play of 2021 Cat/Griz? Not sure how Troy will ever make it in the NFL now.

Wow! Griz must be really good if they didn't want him anymore.

I asked this on a different thread- did Sulser get a scholarship or is he walking on? The article didn't say.

I sure as hell wouldn’t let my kid leave a full ride to go walk on, regardless of the school! The Butcher wrote: ↑Fri Apr 29, 2022 8:04 amI asked this on a different thread- did Sulser get a scholarship or is he walking on? The article didn't say.

While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."
