That’s wild…I certainly hope he gets some
NIL money from someone down there! Austin is pricey!

I kind of thought he might be walking on. Not a lot of college exposure due to injuries and suddenly goes to Texas.

It is, but it's a great opportunity. Try your hand at the highest level of college football, live in probably the most popular place in America for young people, and go to grad school at a really good school. Especially if he's going for an MBA...though I'm not sure if he's pursuing that. If the money pencils out even remotely, it's a no-brainer. That school and its supporters have money to burn. I'd bet they found something for him.

So is the portal closed? After today they can't play this year if they enter the portal. Right?

CN mentioned on his radio show that Sulser was always a 4 year player for the gris. Academics. Thus they didn't redshirt him. So makes sense to go to a really good achedemic program for his desired field of study.

I just want to add that I appreciate his sister and any contributions she made to any gris hottie threads 😉

I thought you could enter the portal whenever you want. You just had to have entered it by 5/1 to be eligible for next season, otherwise you have to sit a full season.

I took this more as directed at recruits than the transfers. I’m sure they hear it all the time from a kid that they’re getting recruited by a crappy FBS school and they think that’s better…I’d be sick of it too!

HW might’ve had a couple coldies tonight…he’s letting them fly!

I like the statement! However I still have to admit I am not a fan of HW at this point hopefully he changes my mind this next year!

I must be in the minority on this one, I think this comes off as whiny and unprofessional.

Sounds to me like he missed out on a recruit that picked a lower level FBS school and he’s going to Twitter to be passive aggressive and pout and whine about it.

Even if I tend to agree with the general sentiment. As the OC of a division 1 football program, this is something that can just go unsaid on a public forum or at the very least worded better and not talk about other programs “sucking”.

Just my .02, I’m sure most don’t agree with me.

You are correct and it could’ve been worded better. However I do agree with the sentiment.

I don’t see him mentioning anything about transfers. I took it more as a recruiting message for HS players. Recruiting isn’t easy and he got his message out there, whether you agree with it or not.

Seattle to Billings to Missoula to Bozeman to Portland to Billings

Let’s see if he sticks to that line of thinking if/when someone like UTSA offers him a job. It’ll be fun to quote that tweet one day!

If his play calling goes back to how he started last year, I'll apply for him.

It's a little different for coaches though. If he was leaving for a $500k/yr job it would be hard to blame him. Atmosphere-wise it would be a step down but that kind of money for a few years can set a family up for life. But if he took a similarly-paying job at an FBS school because he thought it would be a good career move, it would be pretty hypocritical.
