Pretty sure OP is being sarcastic. At least that’s how I took it.

Tommy led the offense to a win in his first start in a playoff game. That’s impressive and he’ll only get better.

Re: Mellott
I think Mellot looked pretty good today all things considered. He puts pretty good zip on the ball. Our o line looked very good as well. He didn’t complete a good percentage but you can see that the coaching staff feels comfortable letting him make the reads and throws needed to move the offense. I think the coaching staff maybe is kicking themselves a little bit for not making this move earlier to be honest. Can’t wait to see what next week brings!

Re: Mellott
Tommy is clearly a winner, he plays with passion and his teammates can feel it. You could see the team surround, support, and lift him up today, Its obvious he is dynamic with his legs, his short routes have some zip and the ball comes out crisp! I think he has huge potential for MSU and I already love him! But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, if were being honest and objective, it’s clear that we were mostly a one trick pony today (though Mellot CLEARLY can run the offense better than Mackay did, and I liked Mackay). The TN defense had never seen him and figured him out fairly quickly, we’ll need more tricks in the bag. Tommy goes through at least two reads at times and is decisive if he needs to bail, he’ll definitely need to get that arm stronger in the off-season to truly become a threat beyond 20-25 yards passing. I LOVE his potential, he is obviously a baller. If Vigens reputation with quarterbacks holds up, Tommy could be VERY special!!! I’m not ready to declare him the total package yet, but folks, he looks to be the heart of this team for years to come and I’m looking forward to it!! The cool thing about Tommy is, I garuntee he knows how much the Divide trophy matters and he’llbattle to keep it at home where it belongs…

Re: Mellott
The last few games it seemed that McKay was playing without any confidence. Tommy definitely plays with confidence and I believe that helps the whole team. That was probably our best defensive game of the year and I believe the confidence of the offense helped the D as well.

Re: Mellott
Tommy had a great game, considering what happened with McKay. I personally think that unless the OC changes some things, we aren’t going to be able to rely on the run as much as we did today against Sam Houston

Re: Mellott
I think we'd feel a lot better about Mellott's passing ability right now had the game today been played under virtually any other weather conditions. Obviously MSU will not be able to compete with SH without a strong performance in the run game, but I am confident they can at least pass enough to not be completely one-dimensional and maybe hit a few big plays downfield.

Sophomore in school. Technically a true freshman om the roster as last fall didn't count.

Re: Mellott
I felt he made the right read nearly every throw. And most incomplete passes were just off the mark. If the wind was not a factor, and the receivers weren’t being tackled , he could have put up better #s.
I’m not anointing him as the next McGhee. But the kid is absolutely a winner.

Re: Mellott
Well done Tommy! We were wildly successful in the most important category, win and advance. Total team effort. Oline was stellar - 6.5 ypc. Lots of room to improve in the passing game and we need to get the kinks worked out before we arrive in

Lots to be impressed with, but as a runner tommy has incredible balance and lower body strength. It’s amazing how many guys just can’t wrap him up.

What I saw was a thread STARTED by some guy who was attacking a kid who just played his ass off. Yes, I have a problem with that and so did others posting before me as well. I have no idea if it was sarcastic or not, but I was clearly not the only one.Lord Vigo wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 7:13 pmAny excuse for Cataholic to identify someone as an inadequate fan.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 7:11 pmPretty sure OP is being sarcastic. Yes, you saw a post that you didn’t like and so you cussed out the poster and told him he’s not a proper fan.Cataholic wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 10:40 pmWhat I saw was a thread STARTED by some guy who was attacking a kid who just played his ass off. Re: Mellott
Just to clear this up...lucky Irish said all week that he was a fan of Tommy and didn't like how the "haters" said he couldn't throw the ball effective enough for us to win. The OP was a callback to his opinion earlier in the week that Tommy could indeed get the job done with a sarcastic sentence directed to those haters...hence the coffee emoji at the end.Lord Vigo wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 10:44 pmYes, you saw a post that you didn’t like and so you cussed out the poster and told him he’s not a proper fan.Cataholic wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 10:40 pmWhat I saw was a thread STARTED by some guy who was attacking a kid who just played his ass off. Yeah, I noted the sarcasm and took his point. Cataholic didn't. Which is fine. I was just weighing in on him going ballistic on the guy and telling him what a bad fan he is.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 11:17 pmJust to clear this up...lucky Irish said all week that he was a fan of Tommy and didn't like how the "haters" said he couldn't throw the ball effective enough for us to win.
