I know there are bobcat posters on here from the Denton area, so I thought it would be appropriate to send some prayers your way.

For those that don’t know, the coffee creek fire is trying to destroy Denton and the surrounding areas, I hope you all stay safe.Terrible situation man, terrible.

Ya, last I saw was a video of flames right behind the bank--scary and sad.

My hometown. Graduated from there in 1980. Our farm/ranch north of town burned up this summer in the Taylor Fire. I hope all the discussion of homes burning is just rumor. This has been a horrible year in that area. Driest I've ever seen it. I have a few friends who still farm there but they live out of town a ways. I'll be calling to check on them tomorrow.

It isn’t rumor. It’s really bad. So sad.

It definitely burned some buildings in town. My cousin, who posts on here as well, was fighting the fire. Their ranch is south of Denton and some of the fire burned their land yesterday when it started. A few homes in the country burned down as well yesterday. It burned everything at Cody Jelinek’s except for his house, I know that one for sure.

Dang. With wind gusts of 70 mph and a red flag day, there's just no stopping it. Same conditions that burned our place in August. All the fire fighters can do is try to direct it away from buildings, but that is dangerous work and is hard to do. My sister says she heard the town hall/library and the grocery store were lost, too.

December 1st should be a blizzard and not a firestorm. Terrible and frightening. Prayers to all.

I see that Leon has put out an Instagram video calling for donations for the people of Denton. Very cool of him to do this. The final tally was 25 primary residences lost along with the elevators. In a town of about 300, this is obviously very significant. Just wanted to put this out there in case anyone has a desire to help. Go Cats!!

This article spells out more details of the loss. So tragic!
Fire damage assessment continues in Denton - https://www.krtv.com/news/fire-watch/fi ... -in-denton

There is an online auction on Facebook being developed that's supposed to begin Monday I believe. It's called the Denton Fire Relief Fund Auction. Incredible donations coming in. I'm sure it'll be easy to find if anyone is interested.
