EWU Bobcat Friday Night in Spokane Nov. 5

Post by msualumnifoundation » Wed Oct 27, 2021 10:09 am

Hey Bobcat fans,
Our tailgates have become a long-standing tradition at all our away football games. We know you look forward to them just as much as we do. So it is with great disappointment we must let you know that we will not be hosting a tailgate at the MSU vs. EWU football game on Saturday, Nov. 6.

Please understand that this was not an easy decision and is based on the following:
  • Our traditional tailgate space is unavailable due to construction. Additionally, EWU cannot accommodate our food, beverage and facility needs on campus due to staffing challenges.
  • Off-campus venues in Cheney have been explored, but are limited. There was not a venue, hotel or restaurant that could accommodate a group of our size.
Because we can't skip an opportunity to celebrate our beloved Bobcats, we are going to do it up right on Friday night in place of the tailgate.

We have reserved The McGinnity Room in Spokane, for what is sure to be our largest and grandest Bobcat Friday night event. Please join us Friday, Nov. 5, 5–7:30 p.m.

Cost is $20 per person and includes appetizers, an adult beverage and a bar full of Bobcats.

This event will be limited to 300 people and will sell out, so be sure to purchase your tickets ASAP by visiting: https://www.msuaf.org/FRIWA

Go 'Cats!

Great event. Wish we had some name tags but it was fun meeting a couple new Bobcats. Thought the pulled pork was outstanding.

Great event! Thanks to the foundation!

We go back to Cheney next year. Has anyone looked at Epic sports bar in the Northern Quest Casino? That would be an awesome place for a Friday fire-up. It would easily hold the 200-some that signed up this year.

Hi @WalkOn79
Yes, I did actually look into the Northern Quest Casino this year! Unfortunately, they wouldn't allow me to reserve any of their bar spaces for a group of our size, we could only reserve the banquet rooms. And the banquet space was just a little (or a lot) of the price range when you add on food and drink.
Thanks for thinking about it though. I think it would be a blast to do an event there.
